Do you let your kids build inside forts?

It has been raining a lot here lately. I told my kids they could build an inside fort and they said they didn't know how. I guess none of their foster parents ever let them build one before. After we got it built, they played in it all day! They even asked to build another one today.

The five of mine that were fort building are age 3 to 18. It was a really good way to have them all playing together at the same time.

I always enjoyed building forts when I was young. I guess I am lucky that my parents let me. Most of my friends weren't allowed to build forts in their houses.
Now I always build them with my younger cousins and will definitely let my future kids build them!

Good for you ladyhope. I can't imagine not being allowed to build one. It's not like it's hard to clean up afterwards.

Of course I let the kids build forts inside the house. It is really a great thing to do when the weather outside isn't very nice. We've made them many different ways throughout the years. Sometimes I will just throw a big blanket over the top of our dining room table. Then there are other times that we will square off four chairs and then throw the blanket over that. However, I have to admit that the biggest hit ever for my kids was the time that I pitched a tent in our living room, that was definitely a memorable experience.

Ha!! That brought back memories. My two kids that are grown and gone pitched their new tents they got for Christmas in the living room and I like to have never got them to take them down. I had to actually take them camping to get the tents out of the living room.
