In the morning, I went to the Quezon Avenue station so that I could get to my destination earlier. To my consternation. there were a lot of people and people almost stepped on you just to get their selves inside the train. It took me an hour to get a ride. I also got late to my office. I think there should be more trains to accomodate the public. Much more, the trains should be wider also. I was hurt and my hands were almost twisted when I got into the door.It was hard

The MRT station really gets crowded especially on rush hours. People will step on you, push you intentionally. I really try to avoid riding the MRT because of this. The bus is sometimes much faster than the MRT because you need to go into a long line to buy tickets.

Yeah, but most of the time the train is a lot more faster since they won't experience that much traffic. although i agree Bus can be faster depending on traffic conditions. i hate it when the crowd tries to fit even at the times when the cars doors are about to close. as for me, i always stick near the door so that i wouldn't bother myself in budging to everyone on my way out.

mrt - This is the MRT.
Yes, Letran Knight. Depending on the time you went to MRT, the bus could be much faster. Going to Cubao station is really hard because of the long line. I experimented on how fast I could get to my usual destination by riding the bus this morning.I was able to get to the clinic prior to 8 AM. Unlike when I went to MRT, I waited for an hour to get a ride then, was able to get to our clinic past 8AM

The government know the problem but little action is taken care off,. Manila is so congested that given the volume of cars and public transport still there is a shortage, maybe the next MMDA chairman should focus on providing more efficient transport and eliminate those useless ones that only takes the street more congested.

Hello mimiang, i went to monumento yesterday for a doctors check up. i went home around four in the afternoon, i couldn't believe the level of crowd drawing into the train every time the train stops in a station. I am always cautious that my wallet is never at my back it's always in the bag and am holding it on front, there snatchers there. the new trains are a bit wider but not enough if there's rush hour.maybe you sshould stick to the womens car so that you won't be squeezed that much.

Oh, they still squeeze themselves in at the women's car. And worse, there are pregnant ladies, and children, senior citizen, and handicaps so it's much more difficult. I have to freeze in place so I won't hit anyone fragile while more women push me to get themselves in. I would really just choose the other cars, not those reserved to females, because it's a fair game. If they push me, I'll push them back.

I am not from Manila and the first time I took the MRT was when I was 10 years old. It was a funny experience cause I really dont know what I should do. I tried to walk under the gate but that's not possible. It was difficult for me at that time cause I was young and didnt know any better. But if I would have a chance to take it again, I would know what to do already.

Didn't you have an adult to accompany you that time?

Good thing that is not really my problem almost everyday. The thing that I am so pissed off is the fact that people does not want to move at the center to accommodate other people to get inside from another station. You can still see spaces at the middle.

Some just dont want to be give space as other people squeezes themselves that would make the others from the center not have enough space to walk to the door when they are about to alight from the train. Knowing Pinoys... they will use up all the space that they can see.. so the ones in the center people just wont budge anymore as they are scared that the little space that they have for them to walk to the door will totally be gone.

Specially if you are a woman. You need to protect most of your body parts. Unlike guys, and I do believe some guys even like it that way.

Though riding MRTs or LRTs is more convenient that riding a jeep or bus, yet there are times that you get squeezed. That is one of the problems riding with MRTs or LRTs. I also hope that there are more trains in the country.

There are peak hours in MRT where it would take you an hour before you can even come near the train door. Quezon Avenue is a particularly difficult station to catch a train ride because the trains that leave the last train station are packed with people and few people ever get off as it is just the next station. It would have been better if you took the round trip instead, that is, get on the North side and not get off the last station. During peak hours, there are trains with 3-5 minute intervals but the trains that leave the station are already full. I usually sit in the bench in Cubao and wait for a skating train.

Some people do NOT have any discipline at all. They keep on squeezing their bodies inside of a jampacked mrt and even forcing themselves in on a CLOSING door. However, some of the people seated or standing inside.. the innermost part or middle standing while riding wont go near the door even if they know they are nearing their destination. If for example I happen to be seated where I know I would be having a hard time going out I will be standing up and start to go near the door a station before my destination. And, if Iam an avid passenger of MRT then I should KNOW that already by this time. There are the " so slowwww" kind of passengers... where they walk as if they are in Star cinema waiting for their prince to fetch them in perfect drama. There are indeed some place to be so prim and so pristine proper.. but MRT is definitely NOT the place to walk like a TURTLE.

Fortunately, I never experienced standing up on MRT train, I use to ride on it on the first station (Taft) so I usually get a sit. BUt I do experience the super crowded MRT. SO even though I could get a sit, I have difficulties on getting out. Well, What I do is that before I get off to my destination I stand up one station ahead, in this way I could struggle out of the crowd and move to the door to get out before my destination. This is because If I would stand up on my very station I might get closed on by the door! As they say... ONLLY IN THE PHILIPPINES! ^.^

Yes, and with the crowder MRT some people are so smelly, i got some experiences there were people who never even tooked a bath clinged on me. I would prefer riding a bus if it is not rush hour.

The MRT has a lot of trains. They just don't use all of them. That's why commuters don't a choice but to squeeze themselves in an already full train because of course they don't want to be late for work. I think what you have to do is try to wake up a little earlier, yeah you'll be awfully early in the office but you'll be saving yourself the hassle of pushing, squeezing, and in your case, stepping on your feet.

I am just lucky because I have a choice if I want to go to the office or not. I go to Makati only if I was asked or if I want to go to the office.
