When the new Administration started, one of the hottest issue is the used of Wang-wang or siren by the arrogant government officials,i really have great grinning of teeth when i see this officials arriving like a zipper blade in the roads,it seems like they owned the road and they constructed it for themselves...well, the wang-wang or siren is now banned from using, now not everyone can used it,only the Ambulances, firetrucks and other emergency vehicles and Top officials of the Country...but in the past few days,we've notice that Government officials used hazard lights to let the people know that they are in a hurry, they mean emergency, i think this practice may be abuse again in the future and will be the same again as the wang-wang/siren being used to be like zipper fly again in the roads...Wang-wang/siren hazard lights, are they not the same!share some thoughts!thanks!

Personally, I think that government officials should have the privilege of using those sirens or flashing lights or whatever. They really do very important jobs. Like the senators and the congresspersons, they make bills, amendments, and laws that are extremely important to our country. What the problem is, they abuse this privilege. They use the sirens even though they don't have a session in the house or they're on their way home or wherever else they're going. That's their problem, they abuse their authority and privileges.

i agree with you, they have the privileges but they abuse it,really abused it, that's where the problem starts, now our new president acts like a normal citizen, and we all know that he inherited loads of unsolved problems of our country and will continue to meet new ones in his term, all of his subordinates must act like him,no sirens stop on traffick lights, experienced traffick, be late just like the president last wednesday, and behave or else...hehehe!Thanks!

It's his (the president) decision though since it's his way of running things now that he's president, everyone just has to follow suit. I just don't feel good the way he's justifying his not-choosing-to-use-sirens by saying that he's just a public servant and should be treated as a regular citizen. I'm like, Dude, you're the president. Like it or not, you have privileges and authority given to you for your own good. That's why you're always late! And in the long run, we know that in it's own way, always being in time of the president could also benefit the public.

Wang-wang and hazard light are two different things. But if there is hazard light has siren, then I presume that it is similar to that of wang-wang.
Filipinos do really know how to deviate and are very ingineous when it comes to breaking rules.
I hope no abusive public officials will break this wang-wang rule of the new administration.

Yes it is obvious that they are not the same, but the purpose here are the same, when one uses a siren what does it mean?Emergency! right!and when one uses a hazard too, it means Emergency too, or In Danger. Now the wang-wang is banned from using,if you notice now officials used hazard light in the streets, soon this hazards light may be used again like the wang-wang without the noise..again they may avoid traffic, run like zipperfly on the road...Arrogant officials!Hope things will change for the better and will continue to change not today, nor tommorrow, but Forever!

I agree with you paoxav, but the abuse of it is the problem here, the sirens or wang-wang was banned, but if you observe now, the arrogant officials now used the hazard lights to do the same...avoiding traffic... it is much quieter, than the wang-wang..thanks!

Abusive people will always find a way to beat the system. The wangwangs were banned but that did not stop them from buying and using them. I have not seen government officials doing this. Maybe you should try to take a picture or video and submit to media or LTO.

yes, we have to be vigilant too, if we need real change in this country then we should contribute even small things to help our country such as this...that is why i was asking you guys what's the difference if they banned the wang-wang , there are alternatives now,Hazards it is not noisy but it will serve the same purpose as the wang-wang and soon will be abused again by the arrogant government officials who owned all the road of our country...when you see one who abuse their authority used your phone and report it..shame on them....

Atleast the hazard lights are not noisy. And if you saw them, you know its not really emergency if they are not honking at the same time too. So you can just ignore it.

but the problem here is avoiding traffic, they can used it again and abused, yes it is not noisy but the point here is they will do the same put all pity normal citizens on the side when they pass...we all deserve to use the roads equally, no VIP'S , they should follow rules, they seem owned the road and paid for it...idiots and arrogant government officials grrrrrr.....not all though...

Gosh, we make an issue out of everything these days! I agree with you though, those are so freaking annoying, makes me want to spit at them when they go by. Then again, they do seem in a hurry. It is tad unfair though how these people think that their time is more valuable than hours? Why not devise a way of improving the traffic situation. All this getting stuck in traffic should really inspire someone to act about it.

Yes they have to experienced it just like our new president,i did not vote for p-noy, in fact my last vote was 1986 since then i hate elections because of that, abuse of government authority became rampant its a pity but the power of the people shall prevail...Yes improved traffic scheme, bus stops and jeepney stops must have time ,just like in japan..they have time of arrival in bus stops and its accurate...all these things etc...and the hazard lights may be abuse too ,i tell you....anyway thanks!!!
