Yeah, they are all water but I what I believe that water that flows into our homes nowadays are not anymore the same years back. Now, there are already lots of people living and lots of houses all around us, which makes water not that clean anymore, especially for human consumption. I believe that mineral, purified, distilled kinds of water are being invented because some people have suffered from amoeba, typhoid fever, and similar diseases that were acquired from drinking 'dirty' water. So, I think that there's really a difference between the two, technically.

I while ago I read a discussion about tap water on a local discussion board in my country. Many people said that it was a waste of money to buy mineral water, because the tap water is less expensive and it tastes like mineral water. I agree with that. In my country it is safe to drink the tap water and I have been drinking it ever since I was a child, but I know that there are countries where it isn't a good a idea to drink the tap water and where it has a terrible taste. I have visited countries where I couldn't even brush my teeth in the tap water.

Its just matter of opinion and also where you live. Most people in Rural places have better water than those of us who live in overpopulated areas. Bottled water on the other hand is not that great for you cause they filter out all of the minerals. We used to get minerals from drinking water and now with all of these over processed foods we have no chace of getting any nutrients. Its funny how health food nuts will tell you not to eat processed foods but when it comes to water they think the more you process it the better it is.

Tap water if comes directly from the well is good for drinking.
As long as the water shed(well) is much protected and deep enough for filtration.
It is considered as mineral compared to the bottled ones that undergo artificial filtration.
But,if tap water comes from the water pipes (company that supplies water) and being chlorinated,it's not really good.
Since chlorine can damaged our veins and will cause harm to our health.

I just wonder why u guys is thinking that the mineral water is not coming from the pipes too.Ofc it's a difernce between tap water from diferent places to compare tap water from USA and from Bulgaria is nuts. But in every mineral water they put the same chemichals and in every one has a fluoride.I beter to risk with our tap water in Bulgaria which are not so bad in the litle cities like mine before that fluoride water which will cost 100% dmg after some years.

Water,as You say,is water...we need it for our bodies to function properly.Tap water is normally treated and filtered to remove impurities after coming from a reservoir, having been collected from river and rainwater. What is classified as Mineral water should come directly from a spring source, and have some degree of natural filtration through the rock it comes from, which would also add minerals which some see as beneficial. What gets to be an issue is when bottlers and their marketing departments make claims for their product to increase sales that are later found to be bogus,or at least economical with the truth..

Hi Princess,
I have to side with your friends. I will NOT drink tap water. I'm sure it is fine and won't hurt me but where I live, it is so loaded with chlorine that it smells and tastes like I'm drinking a glass of bleach! I've lived in other areas where I drank tap water and then suddenly there will be a ban put on it. Why? because it has been contaminated with human waste or some other bacteria that makes people sick. Now when I visit my daughter, I do drink her tap water. It comes from a well and while I'm sure there is the possibility of it being contaminated, I think the odds are less. She does have it tested regularly. In the meantime, I'll stick to the bottled waters.

I think the TAP water is not filtered unlike Mineral water. Mineral water went through a lot of sterilizing and chemical filtering. Tap water still has acids and was not sterile. But one can still drink Tap water for as long as it is safe. Some Tap water are not recommended to drink. :)

First i like to tell u that i drink tap water, but to be specifically we need to boil it every time to be clean and be sure it's safe to drink it,but this cost too much time and electricity so i don't do it(but it's good to be done).Anyway i see u missed guys more important think. What this mineral bottle water sustain.U can see in the mark of mineral bottle water that it is writen-do not give it to children(i can't remember now until what age was). This fluoride they put in the water is bad for the health, beter stay on tap water.

I can say mineral water is safer to drink since it is filtered and clean, on the other hand it is expensive, so for example if you have children in your home and you have some hefty budget go for mineral water since it's cleaner than tap water.
