As the saying goes "Dogs/Pets are mans' best friend". I love my dog so much and I treat him like a member of the family. I know some of you guys feel the same way as I do. This past few weeks, my dog's been inactive, dehydrated, and always on the ground sleeping. He even pooped blood, and puke. So we decided to bring him to the vet. And the vet said that he got a "reovirus". It is being transmitted through air, and pets that infected by the virus. At first we thought that he's being inactive just because he saw one of his dog friend died. And we never thought that the dog (died) had the virus. And now my beloved dog's infected :( Does anyone here experience the same with his/her dog. Is there cure? I want to know, even the vet said that the only solution is that he needs to continue eating and drink water. The problem is he doesn't want to it at all :'( We even forced our dog to eat :( I want him to survive.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog being ill. As far as I know, reovirus is not a life threatening condition, so, think positive! Follow your vet advice, and try to keep your beloved dog hydrated. You may force him to drink, using a plastic syringe without needle. Place your thumb in the corner of the dog's mouth between the cheek and the teeth. Insert the tip of the syringe in the place that you've created (between the cheek and the teeth), and slowly empty the syringe. Don't force the syringe too far into the dog's mouth, or you could choke him. Try to keep your dog away of other healthy dogs. You don't want others to suffer the way you do now. I hope your dog will get better soon.
