Have you ever thought you can take care of a Elephant...? I really can't even think of that....
Yesterday when I was watching TV , I came across a channel in which they showed a man who is taking care of an Elephant like a pet animal...I was amazed. We all know how difficult it is to be with an elephant..It is a small village. There is a temple which is very much famous in our state..In India , there will be elephants in some big temples to do pooja for GOD...The elephant brought to that village at 6yrs..the weight was 64Kg...Now the weight is 2000 tons ..think so..I forgot the actual weight..The man I said is taking care of that elephant from childhood..He tooks the elephant for bathing three times a day..In the morning it eats big loads of banana and dates..He makes everything for that Elephant..the name of the elephant is "Lakshmi"...
Now more interesting when they played the music it started dancing,The man gave a mouth organ to Lakshmi and started giving some music...If anyone came and hit that man, then Lakshmi will fight for him..He signaled that he is danger ,immediately that elephant giving loud noises and searching anyone is there fighting with his master..I really afraid..you know how an elephant can fight..Lakshmi cares for his master..
Then the man said when he was in typhoid he can't able to go with elephant to do the daily work for GOD..He said "lakshmi took me all the way and helped me..and splashed some water on my face..The next minute I felt very normal"..I can't explain how devotional it is..It just explain the love and affection between them...
Then they entered interior part of the village..All the kids are waiting for that elephant..They gave some bananas to eat and they sung a song..and it started dancing...really that is amazing...
All the villagers said it is like their son...We all care for him...
A small drops of water came out from my eyes..because I love elephant a lot..But I never thought like this not got a chance to stay with an elephant for at least 1 hour...
Have you ever thought like this..? Whether you love elephants ?

I love pretty much all animals except for mosquitoes and fleas. But I can't see my self taking care of an elephant...

Hi Gany! That is one of the sweetest stories that I have ever
heard! I happen to think elephants are kind of cute! I know
most people would think that I am crazy for saying that but
whenever I have seen elephants at the zoo or circus they always
look so sad and loving when you look into their eyes and I've
never forgotton that! I believe what you are saying about this
elephant because I believe that if someone took great care and
loved and nurtured an elephant that they are capable of a great
love like this one has for his master! I wish I could spend time
with this very special elephant too because he is one of the
very ones that was "saved" and is able to live a very happy life!
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story. It made me cry
a little too, but I am so happy for that elephant too~Hugs, Opal

I never heard of a pet elephant -- they are only in zoos here --, but I saw a TV film about a park for abandoned elephants in Thailand, and they seemed very friendly. I never saw an elephant dancing, but I think I would be afraid by such a pet dancing -- and I will not try to hit the master --. Thank you to share this touching story.

As a small child, after visiting the zoo, I was convinced my parents should get me an elephant. That just does not work, especially in the United States. I think many animals will bond with their caretakers when around them all of the time.

Elepants have really been seen by man as a very loving and good sort of animal. I have seen documentaries about them and they are very family oriented, they stay by their own kind and are very passionate. They live to ripe old ages and are very loyal too. I would certainly want one for a friend.
