I have had my love-hate relationship with meat, but I think this piece of information is going to make me really take sides in this debate about meat consumption. All along, nutritionists had almost succeeded in making us believe that meat is bad for health-little did I know that meat was equally bad for the environment. Meat isn't bad for you when you eat it in proper portions. It contains high quantities of iron and protein. It contains amino acids that the body needs to live and phosphorus. Yes it can all be gained through plants but not through 1 single plant. Not to mention for example liver vs carrots Liver has 6000mcgm of iron in 100 grams and carrots have 325 in 100 grams. The point is that meat isn't necessary but you can tell the difference between a veggie only diet and a veggie and meat diet very clearly. To claim that something is bad for the environment without showing clear evidence that it is a problem is stupid. Although there are studies that methane is a problem it's not enough to bring down the entire meat industry. I can tell you very few guys who workout will go to a vegan diet knowing the lack of protein. But in the end it's really about what you believe the truth is.
