I love the library! No matter how advanced computers get it still won't make the library useless. Most people don't have access to the thousands of books like novels and majority of people don't want to purchase the books even if it is in digital form(for the nook or Kindle). For me its still easier when researching to have hard copies open in front of me and not relying on the computer too much.

I agree with you.. Even if there are a lot of information available on the internet, not all books have electronic equivalents right now and I also find it easier to do research if I have the books with me. The Internet is sometimes very unreliable as well, so I choose to go to the library to check out the information I need. Access to the libraries are most often free as well, unlike using the Internet which can cost you money. :)

The library is always free and that's the best it could offer aside from free information as well. I also love the library as much as both of you do since I started loving books because of the library..

hi friend,
i can say that i hardly visit our campus library any more anfact i find it time wasting nowadays for me as first i have to roaming around the spacious room to find my book of study then look for a seat to study.
our school did give us soft copies of all the books we need and now all i do is just head home an study on my computer even now my parent is convinced of getting me my own laptop to move around with it for studies mainly.
but what about those people who don't have p.c's at home.the library will always remain a useful tool to them. initially i did even go to read newspapers in the library but technology has made it easy to access e-newspapers in the internet. all i do is log on the various papers websites and read them for free.
all i have to say is that at one time in our life's we had to pass through libraries, they are a useful resources to many.
nice time!

don't you love to roam around the library while looking for the book you wanted? I love looking around for books and I end up reading more information that are useful. Sometimes I am also dreaming of having a library of my own where I could stay all day reading.. lol
Thanks to schools, they keep the library alive..

Hello!
I do not go to libary very often, because usually I find all my desired information in the Internet. I do not like read a books even when I was kid I do not like this process. I know that reading really helps with vocabulary and keep active brain. Sometimes we can not find our information in the Internet, but we can find it on books sometimes vice versa. If I really like books I better prefer to buy them, because If you like a book you do not need to take back It to libary and you do not have a time limit to read a book. Do you like read a books? Have a nice day!

since I love reading books, it not a big deal if I will need to bring it back to the library, it's just like sharing to others what you've read and learn.. but of course I do have collection of books which I really really love like the latest I have are the 5 books of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.. :)

I use the library to get audio books from time to time but as for reference, I always go online. My son has only been to the libray a few times and he's a teenager. We do read, but I like to keep the books so we usually purchase them. My son was shocked to find out that when I was a teenager we had to go to the library to look up anything we wanted to know. Kids don't realize how much easier they have it these days. Augh...I just sounded like my father.

Although Internet is widely used nowadays by everyone of us, but library still acting the role of providing information to us.
A library is a collection of sources, resources and services. Library is a collection of books and it provide a place of silence for studying and doing research.
Public and institutional collections and services may be intended for use by people who unable to purchase such expensive collection by themselves.

Unfortunately I don't have a local library where I live, but if I did I would use it. Libraries are not just a place of reference for me. It is a great place to just have some quiet time and read for a while. I have met some really nice people in libraries too.

Yes, I still think libraries are useful tools of a society. You can't find EVERY book on the internet so if you're writing a paper or just interested in a topic, the internet isn't the only place to go. It's certainly the easiest if you have a working computer and internet connection, but there's a lot of knowledge and information in books that the internet may not have for you. The internet at times may not be as trustworthy as a published book, either. A lot of websites with "information" can be skewed and is more like opinions and not facts. When I'm at school, I still definitely use the library to do research and not just rely on the internet.

you're absolutely right, not all information in the internet are true and some of them are misleading.
