2012 VS avatar which is best for Vfx movie

Hello friend recently I get a topic about 2012 vs avatar which is best for you. I am a fx artist so I think 2012 is best movie. and its a scientific research about fluid simulation, and other reality fx. Avatar also good. But its fx are really great. Its also right Avatar new thinking type movie . I think 2012 is best what about you

i say both of them can be named as best movie.
the 2012 movie makes us feel that the disaster they are in. the cinematography is superb. and the story is really catchy..makes me wait for 2012 if it will really happen. :)
the AVATAR movie, welcomes us in new world. technical work are uncomparable to other movies. james cameron movies always facinates me.
i have watch both movies and love them both!

yea you are right ofcourse both movie are great. But I am talking about fx related thing which are really very difficult to compare is other.

I think you are a fan of avatar. But as a vfx artist we discuss lot they support 2012. avatar is new concept movie. this is the thing.

I'm sorry, but I think the two movies could not be compared even in terms of the sound effects. 2012 has a very good simulation of what it would really look like should those disasters happen. It has this very realistic feel to it. Avatar on the other hand, aside from being a true 3D movie, has an otherworldly concept hence, the otherworldly effects. They both have different applications of effects to different concepts.

yea those are really different movie. Two are very nice. But 2012 is scientific research based. For this movie they build a complete new bullet physics tool for this demolition building is name volume breaker. But avatar lot of thing are working from many many years ago such as motion capture, tracking, burning physic but those movie are used software houdini which is great tool all over the world. thanks

yea right. But I think 2012 Research is most difficult . Do you know for this movie they making a tool volume breaker so scientist research a lot for this breaking. which are not used in avatar. they don't made any tool for avatar. But its concept good.and different thing. But 2012 for fx research more and too difficult to make realistic if you are a vfx artist you can understand. thanks
