U.S. Fleet heads towards Iran, while Israel plans to use a nuke.

While we are distracted with immigration and oil spill the next war in the middle east is about to kick off. I can not believe that we are being led into something that could turn into a world wide nuclear war and hardly anyone is discussing it. It seems as if the whole world has gone mad lately. While the news papers are saying they are trying to build atomic bombs insiders at the UN and our own state department are saying they don't have the means and likely won't for a very long time. So why the push and why is the US actually considering helping out while Israel uses a nuclear weapon? Russia has already warned against any act of further aggression against Iran this isn't going to be the same thing as what happened in Iraq this very well could be the end of the world. China has also warned against an attack also. There are no winners in a nuclear war, its insanity to even think so.

According to the reports I've read, the U.S. Navy carrier group, which includes the aircraft carrier, the USS Eisenhower, has been stationed in the Persian Gulf for quite a while and is scheduled to rotate out of the area soon. If this is the case, it would explain why the USS Truman and it's carrier group are moving into the area. If both aircraft carriers remain in the Persian Gulf beyond the next week or so, then that would be a cause for concern. Otherwise, it's standard procedure which may explain why there's little news coverage about it.

Little news coverage from main stream media worries me more than if they were actually talking about it. As you said hopefully we will know soon and have a chance for the common people to put their two cents in before we embark on world wide destruction (more than we already are).

Military equipment and personnel rotate all the time with no mention by the media...mostly because it's not of any interest.

What has always disappointed, but never surprised me, is the way that the US unconditionally supports Israel in whatever actions it takes. You cannot have a workable peace if only one side has any bargaining power.
The heavy hand that Israel still used in dealing with Fatah served to embolden Hamas' assertion that Fatah could not negotiate with the Israelis, and provided with the support they needed to seize Gaza.

Too many people have come under the assumption that if you say anything bad about Israel that you are anti-Semitic. Some of the largest protest against Aipac in the united states have come from the Jewish-American community who say Israel welds too much power, money and influence over the united states.

Wow. I am relieved that I am not alone on this. To an extent I was expecting a backlash from speaking (OK, writing)my mind.
As an aside, I see the Knesset's problem with dealing with the West Bank settlements indicative of the way that proportional representation can work against the national interest. A minority party can hold larger partners to ransom over the need for a few votes to preserve a parliamentary majority.
I probably think too much. Politics is in my blood, but I am far too honest to join their ranks- I would be assassinated PDQ!

Is this a repeat of Iraq where 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' was the overt reason for invasion (in spite of the fact that the United Nations had said that there was no proof and, indeed, no proof was ever found by US, UK or any other allied force)?
No doubt the US are merely sending 'backup' forces to the area ... possibly to STOP Israel from using their nuclear weapons (which, let it be noted, have been supplied or at least allowed by the United States).
I, personally, find it sickening that the US has supported and armed Israel in the way that it has. Nor do I think that my own country, Britain, is innocent ... it was largely due to British force and intervention that the State of Israel was set up in the first place.

I am aware of how much power Israel wields in the US. Blood, as they say, is thicker than water and how many senators or congressmen could say that they do not have some Jewish blood in their ancestry?
Even I cannot be certain that I do not have some Jewish blood in my veins - and I come from a country which has far fewer Jewish immigrants than the US. I defend the right of Jews to maintain their religion, traditions and culture and I also believe that they have a right to a piece of land - a state - that can be called Israel.
I do, however, strongly feel that Israel has grossly misused its association with the US and has also well overstepped the mark in its dealings with Palestine and with the people who were already settled in the land that became Israel.

When the leaders of this country start listening to the people who put them in power then things will change.....I really can't believe that Obama is stupid enough to send them anywhere because he doesn't like Israel........Look how he treated the President of Israel when he made his frist visit that tells you a lot about how Obama thinks.....

BY the people who put them in power are you talking about lobbyist or voters? LOL. Its sad to say but people usually believe anything they see on the news/TV and that includes campaign adds on TV. The candidate that doesn't have financial backing is not likely going to get elected. If you don't have money to get spots on TV than most people wont hear a word you have to say.

If Israel were to use anything nuclear on Iran, they would be endangering themselves and the whole Middle East. This they would not do. They are not stupid. Threaten yes, do no. The US is using Israel for their own ends. They are supporting them in this, but in reality the Big "0" will eventually do whatever he can to destroy Israel. He wants to see Israel destroyed as much as anyone else in the Mideast.
The very existance of a Democracy in the Mideast has been an asset to the US all these years. Israel has been a very good ally to the US. You say that the US has done everything that Israel has wanted. Try reading both sides of the story. Try living with bombs falling daily on your cities; with terrorist tunneling daily into your country and killing your citizens. Just because you do not read it in the American news, does not mean it is not happening. You do not even see what is happening here in the news. You do not know what Congress is doing day to day to impact your lives or what the Pres. has done by Executive order today, bypassing Congress. Wake up and pay attention.
