compile design :lex and yacc

when u r implementing a new languauage, we need to construct lexical analyser as well as parser.i think for building lexical analysers and parser,there r linux tools lex and yacc are available.these are very interesting tools and is very easy to use. lex divide the input into tokens(smallest possible units).and yacc is the one which parse (building syntax trees).is any one intersted in lex and yacc?if yes then iwill u explain u more
