I went to school I just had to learn how to cook, nothing to do with cars or bikes that's for guys to fix everthing ,which I ask why they said to me I didn't needed it as long as there are guys around, what do think? I think that females should know more about cars and how they work and not depend on the guys because if they are stuck out in area that they can't get hold of guy to fix any part of car they be able do it them selfs which is good. crazydaisy

Yeah? I think I saw her once in the pits at the Indy 500. If it wasn't her, then she should have been there. cd

I know how to change a tire but my problem is, I don't know where to put the jack. I tried changing a tire many years ago and couldn't because the darned jack would slip. Luckily, some guys were in the area and were able to help me.

I do in fact know how to change a tire on both a bike and car. However, I choose not to do this. My daughter is trained as a mechanic and would kick my butt if she heard me say that.

I also think it is important for women to be able to do a few of these things herself. I have never done it but it would not keep me from trying if I had to. I think I know enough about it to do it. I have helped do it before.

I agree with you about that it's very important for us to know something about the cars so if we ever get stuck some where we can do it, cd

I know how to change a tire on a bike and a vehicle. I have done it many times! I also know how to add brake fluid or steering fluid and how to change the oil. My dad was great! He wouldn't let us drive a vehicle unless we knew at least a little bit about general responsibilities. My daughter once changed out a radiator by herself too!

That's great! Your dad was great to have taught you all that. I also think it's wonderful that you've past the knowledge alone to your daughter as well. Me...I still don't know. Maybe you could have your dad teach me? :-) cd
