Hi,
Lately I have been having annoying problems with both Firefox and Internet explorer and I just don't know why and I am fed up. First, Internet explorer takes like 5 minutes before opening a page when I press on the IE logo to launch the web. So, I must press like 10 times and 5 minutes later, there is like 10 X IE opening at the same time. After, everything freezes for like 4 or 5 minutes.
This problem occurs with Firefox too, sometime I have 2-3 tabs opened at the same time, I search multiple stuff, and then Firefox crashes for no reason. It takes time to re-open my Firefox and to go back to what I was doing. Also, Firefox takes like 10 minutes to open a page and to launch an internet session. I just don't know why. I am wondering if I have a problem with my computer, a virus ( which is unlikely) or I need to check my computer for any problems. So far, it is okay, except I don't close my computer anymore at night, because Windows doesn't start anymore or it takes hours before windows xp launches after I restart my entire pc. I don't know if I need to have a technician to take a look at it.
If there is anyone good with computers, I would appreciate any advices.
Thank you.

You can fix your computer very easy. At least it is easy for me :P
First take you computer apart and clear it from all the dust there is, fans, plates, and all the hardware on it. Take out the processor and clean the old paste between the fan and the processor. Put new paste there it is really cheap. Put your computer back together and install new Operation System on it. After installation start using only Firefox or Safari fro browsers and get yourself good anti-virus program like Panda Internet Security 2010. If all those things don't work you might have a scorched, swollen or leaked capacitor(s). You will know if a capacitor is scorched if it has a little bump on the top of it, if its leaking it will have a leak on the top of it. If you don't know how to change a capacitor go to a service to fix it. My question for you is do you have more than one block of RAM. If yes, before making the steps mentioned above try to remove one of the blocks and then start your computer. If there is no change put the block back in and remove the other one. If still no change try to replace their positions on the slots. If you have any other questions just ask :)

Hi,
Well I just don't know and don't want to play inside the computer, I am afraid of breaking anything and since I am not a professional with computers, I will not take any chances. So, the best think I should do is to go to see a technician somewhere and have my computer checked. Thanks for your advices though.
I can't install any new Windows operating system, because I never had the windows XP CD when I bought my computer 4 years ago. I don't know why the company never included it. It is weird.

How old is your computer. If its too old, its better to replace it with a new one. If you dont want to replace it, its best that you reformat your drive.
Well, you can first clean your pc with a virus scan, then use ccleaner. It seems that your problem with loading is that your registry is messed up. Defragment your pc, it also helps.

Hello,
My computer is about 4 years old, I bought it around mid-October 2006. So far, I'll wait a big longer before buying a new one. Maybe next year, I should by a laptop or a normal PC. Since, I am a student, maybe a Laptop should a be a good deal. I Have scanned my with antivirus and I got nothing so far. I know that I don't do it often, maybe I should. But I can't reformat my pc, because I never had any Windows XP CD included in my package when I bought my PC 4 years ago. I think that is not normal for a big company to sell a PC with a package deal and not include a CD in the box.
Anyways, earlier this evening, I have closed all my tabs and let my PC rest for a couple minutes. Right now, it seems to be fine.

You might be having a resource constraint in your computer or a virus attack. Usually after some time, the OS are loaded with installed programs, the overall performance will degrade too.
However, the most worrying possibilities is your computer had been infected by a virus. I have tried curing it with Antivirus, but it just couldn't clean it properly. Therefore, I prefer to format it and re-install Windows. That will clean 99% of the virus except those BIOS or boot sector virus. Reinstalling windows, will also help resolve the overloading effect of having too much installed software. So, choose your new program to be installed in the future because the resource is limited.
Hope this help, and have a nice day!

May be the company who sold you the computer do not have the authorized license to resell the Windows XP OS. I like Windows XP a lot. The price should should be lower now since Windows 7 are available now. I heard that Windows 7 is great but haven't got a chance to try it out.
Since you can't re-install the OS, you can try uninstall the browser and re-install again. Or, you can try browser other than IE and Firefox.

You may have a virus in your computer. Scan for viruses first.
Do you have too little RAM? Do you open many programs at the same time? It can slow down your computer drastically.
Is your version of Firefox the latest? If you're using firefox, press Alt, then H, then C.
Try using GameBooster. It enhances your computer for better gaming experience, but it works fine for general purposes.

Tell me if it works.

Hello,
I don't know if I have too little Ram, I still have lots of free space on my hard drive and as for firefox, I think it the latest version. I try also to install the latest verson of IE version 8, it never worked. After the restart of my pc, well the computer was supposed to restart by itself, but it didn't, so I had to re-press on the power button to restart the computer. But IE never installed the new version. It is weird.
I might try the gamebooster and for viruses, I have nothing so far. My pc is already 4 years old, so maybe next year, I'll buy a new one and sell this one or give to some places for recycle.

Dear Friend,
Going with you words, i can judge that your Internet connection is slow and that if you are sure you are on a fast network, then probably you have a low specs p.c.A good example are Celeron processors that are very nagging and i have clearly seen this at our cyber cafe at home. their Internet is fast but the p.c's are too slow and dragging.
I urge you to not to keep on trying to reload your browser every now and then as this will worsen an already terrible situation.
Here is what i suggest to you:
1. Get an Anti-Virus if you don"t have one[with Internet security preferred]
2. Get a good Internet service provider.
3. I suggest you get OPERA BROWSER as it has a special feature called TURBO to help people on slow networks and people to save on data if you using data bundles.
If the above doesn't work, have your p.c checked for errors and get it fixed by an authorized expert.
Good Day..!

I have the same problem you have, but with my Internet Explorer. It takes forever to open, that's why I changed to mozilla firefox a couple of days, it SEEMS to be better.
But maybe you have a virus, your pc is old (which is my case) or your RAM memory is low (my case too).
Good Luck!
