Why are men afraid of women who are achievers?

I've noticed, even though how pretty some women are, the more they climb up high in the corporate ladder or the more their achievements and get respected int heir fields, the more difficult it is for them to get a date. It seems that men get more difficulty in asking them out or pursuing them. Is it because it takes a lot from a male to gather his guts to invite a woman in a hight stature? Or is it because male's machismo cannot tolerate a woman achiever? Men and women, what do you think?
