I usually buy cheap watches for work. I cycle to work, and it can be pretty much guaranteed that if I came off wearing a good watch it would be the first thing to hit the dirt! My partner has bought me a decent watch for occasions.

oh thats nice, so you are keeping two watches one for occasions and other for daily use.

Oh yes. I think that we would both be upset if I were to wear a 'dress' watch to work only to damage it. My local market sells watches for as little as £3. That is £4 less (or an hour's wage after deductions) than you would pay a high street shop to replace a battery.

I can still remember my first wrist watch. It was a Mickey Mouse watch with big leather straps. I was devastated when the strap broke. I think of that watch when i have a watch on with leather straps. No matter how much caare you take, leather strapss end up breaking. My favorite wrist watch is one that doesn't look like a watch at all. I like the wrist watches that look more like a piece of jewelry. A little bit of style and fashion makes wearing a wrist watch more fun.

I like wearing the one with leather straps. My wrist watch now is really tattered and my husband is always telling me to buy a new leather strap but I dont want to cause using the old one is much more comfortable than the new one. I am actually using a rubber band to lock and I dont care if people are gonna say it looks weird.

i like the watches whose rates are normal and the design is trendy . i dont opt costly watches because all the watches show the same time despite of their rates !!

ya thats right. watches are mainly used to view the time and it will be same in every watches. so why should we go behind a costly one, which means wasting the money which we earned using our precious time.

In my opinion the concept of wearing wrist watches has gone out-dated with the advent of mobile phones. For the last five years, I have not been using any wrist watch and my watch is kept idle! I have to moniter my mobile phone at least once in every hour for any possible miss call or sms and time from the timer of the mobile screen is monitered also! Besides this, I can find calendar and alarm setting from same mobile phone! So I don't find any cause to spend any amount of money for personal use of wrist watch! Of course as an item of presentation, I purchase some good model of wrist watch to present somebody on a special occasion! Otherwise I have already substituted wrist watch years back! Thanks for this nice discussion about wrist watch!

I've worn wristwatches in the past, but they rarely, RARELY fit on my wrist. Some of them don't fit, so I tend not to buy wristwatches at all and rely on other clocks like one in my cell phone or a pocket-sized one. I'm more on the side of the digital display, but digital and analog faces together that has date display and other indicators works fine for me. Besides, taking off and putting on a wristwatch is a hassle and feels like your arm's getting cut off of blood pressure. So no. Unless there's a low-cost wristwatch that fits my wrist snugly and easy to take off without choking and strangling my arm, i'll pass. Besides, there's no way to replace the batteries in watches. They're more like disposable cameras instead of more permanent use.

I just have a digital wrist watch with a plastic strap. But it gotten all worn out with me wearing it all the time. Then it tore apart. So then I would have to replace it with a velcro strap to attach to my watch. It works really good and I don't have to replace it as much.

I don't wear a watch...I prefer to go naked as far as time is concerned. I don't care what time it is. Makes no diference to me, except to make sure I don't miss my favorite TV shows. I used to wear a watch. It has an expansion band. I even had one for dress...it had a couple diamond chips on it. I don't even know where they are now. In a drawer somewhere I guess. When you're older and disabled, time doesn't matter so much any more.

i was turned into a stylish person after i started dating my wife. She changed my complete style...i am greatful to her. I used to use different watches...a formal watch with a gold metal strap to wear with formals and a silver metal plated casusl watch to go with the casuals. but now the place i work in the uAE is so hot that i dont wear watches at all....i dont even know whre i have dumped them.

I like all the watches, but the watches with leather straps is my favourite ones. I think that the luxury watch is for disco or something not official. I buy my watch most for accessoary, not for checking the time, for this i have a GSM ;) I don't think that the watch is something unneceserry, this is something very cool accessoary. My personal watch is with leather strap.

I have a D&G one with a red leather strap. I love it so much!! Their designs are really nice, although their prices may not be cheap :) By the way, I wanna get a Juicy Couture one lately! Their watches look gorgeous as well! :D

I have several watches, depending on the situation. You know, I have one for work, a watch for when I have the nice suit on. All my watches have hands, I like leather bands, but I do have a nice watch with a metal band. I'm a big fsn of Swiss Army watches. I do not go crazy and buy the very expensive. I like them to be functional yet simple in design.

I've got a Citizen eco-drive watch with a metal link strap. It never needs a battery as there is a solar panel incorporated into its face. It looks great and people compliment me on it regularly. Spending a huge amount on a watch probably isn't necessary: even a little cheap digital watch will tell the time accurately. It all depends on what you want and what you feel it's worth. If you feel like treating yourself with a luxury watch and can afford to do so, then you should.
