Do you feel helpless without your laptop?

I feel like I am disabled because my laptop's adapter wouldn't work. It just went dead and I feel helpless. My laptop has been my best friend since I got it more than a year ago. I only got 1 battery and the battery life last for only 3 hours. Fortunately all my documents, business records and files that are in my laptop memory including recipes, blog files and passwords are backed-up in a separate external HD but still I have no way to open up those files unless I can open up the computer because our PC doesn't support it.
Luckily the desktop still functions and I can surf and browse the internet but there were times when the unit turns off by itself even at times when a user is in the middle of doing something. I wish I could buy an adapter replacement real soon and wishing that the price is affordable so I could buy one immediately.
How about you, can you last a day without logging on to your favorite websites like Mylot and Facebook?

Hi, Bluebelleangel. Sometimes, I do feel helpless without having my laptop. I have been without this laptop one time for about, 5 months, so I know how it is. I have been absent from this laptop for this long. It was stressful. I did read a lot of books to move past my boredom. I hope that you can get another adapter really soon. I am sorry about your laptop's adapter.

I don't know what I'd do if I am in your shoes. It would be a very boring life to have to lose connection with your best friend for days so much more if it drags on to weeks or months. Maybe it sure is a good alternative to read books instead just like you did. Thanks for your response! Happy Mylotting.

I really know your feeling my fellow mylotters.
Its been two week I can not touch my laptop because I had to go out of town and not possible to bring my laptop.
Honestly I really miss my laptop and being connect to internet, I think I already addicted to it.

Hi, I couldn't go on with my work without my computer and I hate the feeling of helplessness because I cannot open my files but I make do with the desk top although I am a bit lost when it comes to logging-in with my fave sites.

Not so, but i will surely miss having one (in my case a desktop)..I can still do other things without them, but I use them more than often because my business circulate around them pretty much..But I can always finds ways not to get helpless when a pc broke down..

Hi Bluebelleangel, Have a look on Ebay to see if there are any mains adaptors there forit. I wouldn't last a day either, would have to pop to a neigboursto log on even if it was just to tell everyone I washaving problems and I will be back soon. Hope you mange to get one soon. Huggles. Ellie :D

Yes I feel helpless.
Even I could say I am an addict of computers. And I have chosen my profession also based on this. So for me I am helpless with out my system. I really love to be with this. What ever I want I have In my fingertips. And hope for the better.

Hi 1anurag1, I think addiction is not the term I'd use because we need our computers to get on with our daily work requirements. I believe we are on the same footing here and computers are our best friends. Have a nice day!

Hi Bluebelleangel, I hope you will get another new adapter soon to replace the out of function one. So that you could resume using you computer as before again. I realize your feeling for I would feel handicapped as well if my laptop couldn't serve its purpose as usual anymore.
I depend all my document work, amusement and many others essential stuffs on my laptop frequently. It's obvious that how helpless I'm if without my pet laptop for a short while. I still keep my old bulky but operative desktop as standby for I could hardly endure life without pc At least I still could work on it with all the essential particulars saved in the external hard dish.

Yes!!!!! I feel insecure without a desktop or a laptop. I can't feel easy if I am away from my desktop or laptop for several days!! I can play games, watch movies, listen to musics, chat with friends, surf nets, download documents, wallpapers, songs, movies, games and so on. I can entertain or keep myself busy and avoid letting myself being idle or with wondering mind!!!
