I AM VERY INOLVED IN MY CHILD'S EDUCATION. I AM A MEMBER OF THE SCHOOL COUNCILS AND I KEEP IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH THE CHILDREN'S TEACHERS TO BE AWARE OF THEIR PROGRESS.

VERY ...I feel it is my responsibility as a parent, to insure my child gets a good education (I see that as THE greatest gift I will ever give to my child). Myself, I know I am not a "teacher"...I'm just not so good at explaining things in a way someone else can understand, but I do my best to follow the lead of my son's teacher and class curriculum.
In my house, my husband and I choose to get by on only one income (his) to free my time up to help insure our child's education. I volunteer 20-30 hours each week to my son's school...I won;t do the PTA, school councils, etc... a little too political for my tastes, but I am heavily involved in assisting in his classroom with support to his teacher (the less she has to do in material preperation etc... means more instruction time available for the children.

I was really involved last year. I was on the board for PTA. This year we moved to a new area and I was late on getting on the board. I volunteer when ever they call me and ask me to come down. I also go on all field trips and help in the classroom every friday.
