I LOVE helping people, I love the humbling experience to help someone who needs it. Is there a way to help someone without having a lot of money? Can you give me some examples of a way to help people without having money to give? Thoughts please =)

Volunteering would be the best bet. I don't do it often, but a few times a year the church where I go to gives out free dinner to homeless people. I can't cook, and I don't do much, so I always end up at the back end washing plates. I know it is not much in terms of helping others, but sometimes I do feel appreciated. And it's the best feeling!

Helping I guess doesnt necessarily need a lot of money before something like that can be done. There are so many ways we can help not just in terms of money. There are opportunities in everyday life. If you dont have money then you can offer some services.

there are lots of ways how to help people without having lots of money... theres only one thing i'm doing to help people without money, just try this one... just asking them whats they're problem, then try to talk about it,it is more better if you had experience that kind of problem before so you can give advices and moral support... moral support is more helpful than money... just cheer that person up and always let that person remember that God is always beside them... :)

Usually giving your time to someone who needs it. Maybe volunteering at a shelter or something. Helping an ederly neighbor or something like that. The possibilites are endless really, there are many place you can volunteer. There are a lot of kids out there that need positive role models. If you talk to your local Y or a place of that sort (im not sure where you live) you can usually get a lot of information with helping out. Hope this helps you, it's amazing what you do, I also enjoy helping others. The feeling I get is great. Have a wonderful day.

Thanks for your response =) I live in North Carolina, US. I can talk to YMCA. I'm sure they do have something. I really would like to start being a foster parent for children but I have to look into what is involved with doing that... =)

Act of service is one way of helping people without need of spending financially. You can help by volunteering to charity works or any individual you desire to help. By lending or sparing your time is a big thing. Anything you have which can no longer be used can be donated. You do not need to give them money and more safer.

depends on the help they need at the time.. I have also helped out others all my life wether its making food for them or taking them shopping if they have no way of getting there etc. I have also cleaned others home without anything in returned. I also helped with money as well especially if there are children involved. That's just who I am. Plus its great to help others out because it makes you feel good inside.

When I was in college, I used to hold 'drives' for supplies for the homeless veterans in our larger cities. I would have bake sales or tutor for extra money, all going to the purchase of supplies to hand out or bring to the shelter. One year, I actually got a bunch of classmates to solicit our dentists and doctors for supplies like toothbrushes/toothpaste/razors/baby and foot powder/band aids and first aid items.... I also had a drive for things like hats/gloves/socks and usable blankets. I made up as many 'care packages' as I could and handed them out to the homeless people in our cities. Everything else, odds and ends, I just put in a box and took them to the shelter for distribution. Doing things like this was alot of work, but I got such a great joy out of it... Now, with a small child, I usually just volunteer at soup kitchens or the schools whenever there is a holiday dinner... There are so many things you can do for others without having money! Good luck!

Me too. I love helping and financially whenever I can, I help people (who deserve my help) . But sometimes I just don't have the money to do so...since most people are asking financial help. Anyway just after dinner, I offered doing the dishes for all of my cousins (we live in the same apartment) . they were a bit surprised, why was I being so nice. And I told them, well sometimes I leave my dishes in the sink and when I wake up in the morning, they're all gone - I'm just giving it back to you - you've been washing my dishes and now it's my turn to wash yours. Anyway, now that didn't involved money - but I know I was greatly appreciated. It feels good to help even without the appreciation. but when someone appreciates it, it's even better.

I am in the same boat as you. I help by volunteering at my local Goodwill Store. I stock the shelves and arrange the clothes for them. Sometimes I help through the United Way. I once helped to build an outside class room at a local high school. It is rewarding for the community and for me too.

We all do!i think it is part of human nature that we all wanted a bit of ourselves shared with other people, may it be being friends, or helping other people. we are definitely loving beings and for that, we constantly seek to give even if we know we might not have anything received from our end. There are a lot of ways where you can help, starting with your own community, cleaning up places, picking up pieces along the way, reaching out to non governmental organizations, volunteer work, etc.

Hi lilangelspreschool I think it is not about money, although it can go a long way. Spending time with an organization and try to help out is already a form of helping. If you have time why don't you join an organization that you think will embrace you plus the things that you can do for them.

you can help them with your comforting words ^^ you know is not just with money you can help others you can also help giving them positive thoughts, warm words^^ being sweet to them and make them feel happy. even here you can help others when some people ask for advises^^ also your friends when they need be there for them to listen to their problems, their worries. thats a way to help also^^ also i agree with you is very good the smile we see or the warm words we read when we help someone in real or internet world^^

For some of them means alot to talk to them, for example, the homeless people, to ask them how are they, to listen to them, listen what they have to say, because they feel very invisible to a lot of people, because they live on the street.

Hi, it's always a good thing to help others, my hubby and I do that a lot in where we live. If you don't want to give money then you can try giving some of your used clothes, shoes, jewelries or even display things or kitchen things to people who are less fortunate than you. Or do a voluntary work, like in schools, assisting teachers in teaching kids and looking after them too. I'd done that for 1 1/2 years and it was very rewarding, or volunteering in a charity shop to look after the shop or just to assist them, how about in your local hospital, they always need assistance. How about home for the aged or orphanage. Something to do and rewarding. Hope this help you.
