Well, I think Bill Gates rank as number one. He brought about home computing along with the other hardware builders.
In scientific knowledge we have the few classic forefathers from Newton to Einstein.
Then the great artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Picasso.
My poets are Keats and Yeats.
I always will remember the great actors like Charlton Heston who gave us plenty of joyous moments at the cinema from Ben-hur to the 10 Commandments.
And the pretty ladies-Farrah Fawcett and Marilyn Monroe.
Great plays-Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon!

Mahatma Gandhi doesnt impress me, nor does Mother Teresa. But even they dont deserve to be on the same bench as Michael Jackson. Bruce Lee . :)
I am ok with Jackie Chan. Life is about laughing, and making others happy!! He does that splendidly - he is going to heaven for sure!
Norman Vicent Peale yes. :)
Music directors - A.R. Rehman, S.D. Burman, Madan Mohan, Shankar Jaikishan - hey too bad you cant expect this, I love music, it is so difficult to say which one is better. Everybody has given me good songs.
There are simply toooooooooooooooooooo many singers whom I like.
Vandy's honest confession - I like male singers better than female singers. I'd love to sing male numbers - wish my voice was like men. :)

vannie, I am not comparing Mahatma and Teresa with film stars. How can I? I do like Jackie but making fun while fighting reduces the feel of the scene.
I love so many music directors. I envy those famous musicians because they enjoy music life long and get paid for it. What a profession it is, wow!
There are too many great singers in India. My favorite is Kishore kumar. Then now Hariharan impresses me a lot with his extra ordinary talents in all sorts of music.
Lataji, Asha and s.Janaki stun me with their magical voices.
Your voice is also different vannie like (a male you said)wish to hear that manly voice

Hi vijayanths,
I can only imagine the state of ecstasy you've experienced while enjoying celebrity performance(s). Some of those on your celebrity list I'm not familiar with but much respect to them all for their gifts, talents, contributions to society, etc.
The ones I am very familiar with are:
Michael Jackson - I'm a huge fan of his music and phenomenal trend-setting entertainment style. He is definitely in a class all by himself!!! I can't express in words how taken I am with his record breaking philanthropic gifts to the world. I love and miss him dearly. RIP My King of Pop!
Mother Theresa - Beautifully spirited woman of grace, wisdom, knowledge, and humanitarianism.
Bruce Lee - Master of martial arts. The greatest!!

I used to love John Travolta when I was younger and I still do. It’s not just because he is a hot looking man but he has such kindness in his eyes and he strikes me as a compassionate family man. Michael Jackson was amazing, I grew up with him enjoying his music, especially his dancing and I wish he was still around. John and Michael cannot be compared to the selflessness and wisdom of Mother Theresa and Gandhi. As far as great artists how about Da Vinci and Michelangelo? Bruce Springsteen’s music takes me back to a significant part of my life too
