Selling old clothes for cash!

I've found this store called Plato's closet. They'll buy anything you want to sell them that's still in good condition. The store only accepts brand name items though. I've sold some clothes to them before. Does anyone else sell their old clothes to stores like this for extra cash?

I tried selling used clothes in a thrift store, and I found it very difficult. I did not have any success so I gave it up. I am familiar with Plato's closet, and they do have nice clothes. Additionally, the store is well maintained.

For some reason, I find it so difficult to sell my old clothes, they usually end up in the charity bag or on the floor as rag. Unless I have a new garment of a well known brand, usually no-one wants to buy my second hand clothes :)

Well, a lot of our local used clothing places mostly only buy them for store credit now - which is fine too. I haven't done it with our clothes, but I have done it with our kids clothes which are usually in pretty good condition. I've built up a lot of store credit at this one childrens second hand shop - and there you can buy some new items with the store credit (not necessarily clothes) and that has been handy. These places used to send a check if you wanted money instead of store credit, but it seems times are tough, so they don't give out money anymore.
