well i find this one very interesting, i always see this in waiters or some of the mall workers. I cannot see myself sleeping standing up because i find that standing will stop me from sleeping. But there are people with this some kind of a skill.
have you tried sleeping standing up?

Hi blou: In case I try it one day, I think that I'd do it in my house and I would put my back in front of a corner to be sure that I am not going to fall. Men could learn to do even the weirdest things with practice. I think that trying to do this would be at least, a funny experience . Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

I never tried it. Horse can really sleep in that manner and some people who doesn't get time to take rest and not even to sit they are forced to take rest by closing their eyes while standing. They don't sleep..At least I don't think so. Its not possible to sleep standing up. I slept half lying on sofa and also on the chair. None of them were much comfortable for me. Best one is always lying on the bed which is very very comfortable for me.

Hi rafael nadal: I know that giraffes have to sleep standing up because of their height and that they actually only sleep 30 minutes everyday. Some persons learn how to sleep on the floor so I think it's possible to learn how to sleep while being standing up. Thanks for you're answer. Have a nice day.

is that even possible? maybe they're not really totally asleep. maybe just 50 percent of their brain / body is asleep. I don't think I can ever do that. I could sleep sitting down for a very short period of time, but no way, not while standing up. haha. lol.

I have and I think the best I have done is dozed. It is not like a deep sleep, it is more like your mind goes away for awhile. You are in a place between sleep and being awake. It usually only happens if the person is exhausted and their bodies have to have sleep. They are not consciencely going to sleep, for the most part, they are near passing out.

No way! I myself find it hard to sleep while sitting. How much more while standing? :-) Though I've already seen a lot of people deeply asleep while sitting, I have yet to see one standing. Maybe they are not sleeping at all. Probably, they are just closing their eyes for a bit of relaxation.

Hi o0jopak0o: When I have to be satnding for hours I tend to sleep but it's not a pleasant situation. Actually I wake up really quickly when something like this starts to happend to me because I have the feeling that I'm going to fall. Thanks for asking us this question. Have a nice day.

I have never tried to sleep standing up, but I don't think I could! I have to be laying down, or at least sitting down. I think that if I did somehow fall asleep standing up, then I would eventually fall over! I need to be comfortable in order to fall asleep, even if I am very tired.

I actually have tried this many times, but was only successful once. I personally prefer sleeping while laying down over sleeping while standing up :)

sleeping, if we go its semantic it is not possible to sleep all standing up. This is rather a condition when the physic gives reply for further action and mind is split between awaking and sleeping. This is more like the twilight.
I remember being in such situation when traveling in a coach and you have no seat to rest yourself. The head dozes off and again regains consciousness. This is a funny situation indeed. Your hand loosens as you start going off and wake in a start.
This is a signal that the body requires deep sleep and when you regain yourself from such state of sleep you do not get the actual sleep so easily.

I once remember myself, in the Philippines, we have passenger jeepneys, you could hold on at the back of the vehicle and ride on. Well I was sleepless then and I was starting to sleep but I resisted it coz I could fall off the vehicle if I had let myself sleep in that moment.

Nope.. maybe sitting up, but not standing. When Im sleeping my body, especially my legs relaxed, so I would probably fall down if even I try to sleep standing up.
