As I am a student, so my parents pay off my college fee and give me pocket money. So I am totally dependent on my parents right now. but I want to do some work so that at least I can earn my pocket money. I am trying for making money on internet and part time job in a call centre.

I understand where you coming from. But working in a call center and then studying would be difficult for you. Why not choose something more you can manage your time. Why not try ESL or online tutor this would be less stress and the pay is just the same working in a call center minus the sleepless night...

In a call centre, we have to work only 3 hours a day on a part time so i can manage my time and can take out 3 hours a day from my life easily.

That would be a good thing that you can work there for 3 hours a day. But isn't so stressful to work in a call center. Because I worked in a call center and I really curse that job. I dont want to go back to that kind of work.

Since your r a students, then you have an excuse. If you are working, try no to depend so much. Try depending on them less each month. Remember, our parents are not going to live forever with us. I suggest you , after you finished your study, try no depend on your parents slowly but surely stop depending on them. So if you just completely cut off of them you will be in shock. First start by getting and keeping a job then moving out with a friend or just living alone. That's what i m doing right now..haha

Its understandable for students to be dependent on their parents cause of course you are still a student and is unable to earn money for your schooling but there are actually a lot of students who work at the same time cause they dont want their parents to spend for them. And I salute them for doing so.

Hi leo2050 Actually, we all went through that stage where we depend on our parents for education and for our basic needs. I was also dependent with my parents not until I graduated college and on the same year, luckily I was able to pass my licensure board exams. On that same year, I was able to get a job and was able to give my share to my family since I was already earning. But still I am dependent when it comes to shelter. At present, I no longer depend on my parents since I have already moved in with my partner. But I assured them that if they need anything they could always ask me.If you are not actually forced to work then focus on your studies and after, that's the time that find a job then give your share. They are parents and it's very fulfilling for them if they see you graduate. So finish you studies first before you step to another priority.

The moment I started to work I depend on myself financially but can say that until now in my 30's I am dependent in my mother when it comes to washing my clothes and cooking my foods, I like other people taking care of me cause I really hate cooking and preparing my own food.

Same story here, Leo. I'm a student myself, not yet in college but will be there in 1 in a half years time. In the time that I have now, I'm trying to get some income going online, both direct and passive. Yes, I'm still reliant on my parents, but I don't take it as a negative

That's the correct mind set and you've my respect. My children have the mind set that we (parents) have to give them their daily expense, eventhough they are 18 and 21. They do work part time on Sunday but it's not for being self reliant or for helping to lighten our load. We are to give them money daily and they are asking for more. What they earn, we do not even see it, it's spent for themselves or for friends. Sigh, we'll just have to wait for them to mature and grow up, so now, at the moment, we give what we can.

Unfortunately, yes. I'm trying to change it though.
