hi. i just had my first reformatting for my laptop of 1 year and 4 months. i had tried to postpone it many times over. however, yesterday was the day. the previous day, i had experienced white screen and super slowed down pc.
my softwares .dll weren't working anymore. im just taking a break from the softwared installation and the restoring and organizing of my files.
i can really feel the difference and my laptop's sigh of relief. LOL.

Really by just reformatting your computer its no longer slow compare to what you have experienced before. I have a computer and its really running so slow now, its been 9 years since I bought this one and never had a reformat. Do you think that would be my other choice other than replace this old computer.

hi. nothing beats a new computer hands down. if it's 9 years ago, the specifications will be way lower than today's computer. but wow. 9 years, the longest i keep a unit is around 4 years only.
i also defragment my computer too. how about you?

Nine years?? You need a new one. Seriously. Even if you reformat it, it would be hard to find old drivers for your hardware.

Rarely
Once a year, i am very professional with the computers,
i always use good antivirus and keep it updated,
and never goto illegal sites, and use some diagnostic tools like Ccleaner.
and also reduce startup programs to speed up your PC

yess Ccleaner is free of cost,
defragment is not a solution,
if you experience slow data read speed , try to test your HDD for bad sectors
and keep things managed
10GB partition if 512MB RAM
30GB if 1GB RAM
60GB if 2GB RAM
it will keep ur computer even more faster

I just reformatted my trusty, but old laptop last month. But since it has been around for quite some time, it is already showing signs of abuse. So maybe before I reformat again, I might consider buying a new laptop for myself since I have been reformatting this laptop for quite some time and it is already slowing down.

I usually reformat my OS especially when virus invades my laptop but I got tired of it because it takes time to format and I am very lazy about it. Aside from that re-formatting would require you to install all the softwares you need like the offices, photoshop, etc. and the drivers being used by your laptop.

I used to format my OS or computer when my Pc got infected with viruses or some unusual virus, keylogging or malware activites.. but now I found the best way to get rid of this...I install back up software in my pc, it is called "TRUE IMAGE BACK UP"...it enables your pc to back your entire C drive or any single folder, files or drives....when your computer get infected with viruses just press "F11" key and you It will restore your C drive.....so you no need to format your drive

I do not format my computer unless I have no option too. The Windows operating system usually will show signs of lagging and intermittent error message pop-up after we use it for sometimes. Because it requires a lot of work after reformatting, so I usually avoid doing that.

My computer a year and a half now and doesn't need reformatting yet. Sometimes if it is slowing down I just run ccleaner and fixes the problems. And defragmenting helps too.

I cannot tell its depends on downloading other sites because sometimes other websites they bring viruses when that happen my computer is become weaker and sometime we have to scan the anti-virus and get the upgraded once in a while. desk top and laptop is differences is that laptop is prone to hit but easy access everywhere and anything goes you can carry while desk top you can use it for a longer time not worrying the hit up but you cannot carry home base. reformatting PC takes you half day but lap top they need to find software they can use and it depends as well

I recommend you to use DeepFreeze instead of reformatting your Hard Drive often.
DeepFreeze is a software that freezes your computer in a state you want. So whenever you think your computer runs at it's peak, freeze it and it'll be at that state even if you install something or a virus breaks in.
In other words, it's like a restore point. If you freeze your pc today, it'll still be at the same state tomorrow (even your anti-virus' database will still be at it's previous state).
Try it guys! ;)
Happy MyLotting ;)

I had my laptop reformatted once. That was about a year ago. It was then when I noticed that something is wrong. Some files, will just open and some files I tried to open will not open. A friend of mine told me that the cause was a virus practically affecting my files. So, he formatted it for me, and now, everything is well. Of course after that, I am more careful and always scan files before opening them. I have also changed my anti virus after such incident. As of the moment, my laptop is working quite well. It seems that it functions just like the moment I bought it. The only thing perhaps that has changed is the appearance since it does not look brand new anymore. But the performance, I rate it with perfect rating. So there is no need for me to reformat as of now.

I format my desktop every 6 months because i don't use it much and i always want it to be safe and free. I haven't formatted my laptop anytime. It's been an year and my laptop is running well and helping me a lot to do my work and stay connected. That way i can talk to any of my friends anywhere and that makes me feel great!

Frequent reformatting of a system may affect your hard drive performance and can also affect the life of your processor. But it is necessary to format your system once a year so that any dump created on a hard drive shall be removed. But you must create a backup of your system before formatting your system.
