why crab mentality?

I think people are just insecure. They are not secured of what they have attained. That is why when there is another person who gets praised or who earned a higher level, he gets jealous because he wants to be the one being praised. This is just a matter of insecurity.

Is that already crab mentality? I think crab mentality is when people do nasty things to ruin someone's image for the purpose of ruining his successful career because of envy. I think what you're saying is just jealousy. And yes, jealousy really does exist especially if someone is doing better than others. But I think when there's someone pulling you down, you should consider befriending that person and talk to him/her. That person will probably like you and will see that you are deserving to get the blessings you're receiving. =)

Wishing a person good luck and then resenting them when it happens is just wrong, it's being a bad sport and will not inhance your popularity.

I could recall the famous lines of the Eraser heads song " with a smile"..." ..In a world where everybody hates a happy ending story..." This is a view that people gets bitter with good tidings around them.. maybe that's life .. we can't change how they think but we can surely change the way we react to these crab mentality issues..

It is human nature to look for the best.We just like the happy thing to happen.There is an old thing,"Hope for the best and prepare for the worst".I think it is quite ture.

Other people is like that, if they envy the success and fortunes of others, they'll try to bring that person down. These kind of people could not accept reality and could not accept their misery. If I were you, just ignore this kind of people and stop socializing with them, they'll just ruin the paths to your success.

Maybe because some people are envious of the success of others or maybe seems to be bitter that after their hard work some people would be successful with just one snap of a finger. I do understand some of them because this are just human emotions that cannot be easily controlled. Maybe at a point in your life you would be in that situation because your ego must have been stepped on.
