Often time's i can copy and paste what someone says into google and search for it only to find out its just a copy and paste into the forum. this is kinda sad in my opinion. i like to hear first hand experiences or someone with something insightful to say. If not that, then at least put some originality into your copy and paste article so its not word theft... I don't really think that's what that tools there for =/ what cha think

I totally agree with you and those that come here and think that they can cheat their way to payout are wrong!
MyLot pays us for our own original work. What is the point of posting someone elses thoughts? How cane we follow them up over time and remember what we posted if they were not our own?
Some might think that myLot have not noticed what they are doing but then they will get a shock when they have loads of posts and one day cannot log in

I think that sometimes humor and having fun on here are totally appropriate responses, and they are just as high quality as serious responses. Of course, a person has to know when to be serious and when to joke around, but sometimes even the right kind of humor when dealing with a serious situation can make it seem not as bad, in my opinion. Sometimes laughter can ease the stress of a bad situation and help you release emotions that crying might not be able to do ... or at least that has been my experience at times.

I use copy and paste all the time...
...but I only copy my own response or discussion before I try to submit it. That way I don't lose it in case my internet connection disappears. That happens extremely often, so I am really happy that I am able to copy and paste. I always write about my own personal experiences, and I would never copy words from somewhere else and submit them as my own

I use the copy and paste function frequently in the same way that you do, Porcospino. When I was a newer user and had not earned the right to copy and paste, I found that I often typed up long and well thought out responses to discussions or tried to start a discussion of my own only to find that when I tried to post it my connection had reset or something had happened and I lost everything. It was very frustrating, so as soon as I earned the right to copy and paste, I have tried to remember to copy my discussions and responses before trying to post just in case there is an error. Of course, it is usually the times that I forget to do this that there is a problem.

most of the time i do care about the quality of my responses...and i do actually think about my responses, especially when i do know the discussion started. even when i'm on my moody day, i'd still type my own responses....albeit maybe not as lengthy or in detail as i would have done if i was in a better mood.
but i would never blatantly copy and paste an entire comment when responding. that is just not right

Mario, even if you tried to copy and paste the discussion or response of someone else, we would know that it wasn't your words as they are almost as easily recognizable as your bright yellow bum-bum.

we do have moody days too you know
like when our favorite sports team lost...
or when our car doesn't start in the morning...
or when our favorite steak restaurant is closed for renovations...
or when the whole town all of a sudden ran out of donuts...

wow, you have time to do that?i think you don't have to do so as you may know it when you read the response itself.anyway i agree with you that honesty and sincerity are important in making statements.there is no use to copy and paste unless it is about actual fact.so i do care the quality of the response i have.

Of course I do and I would never use copy + paste in that way. I always try to bring a level of good standard when I post and I really dislike having to make short responses because the discussion doesn't provide much depth, so I generally only respond when I feel I have something worthy of adding to the discussion. I think it's important to respond as you and not somebody else, it's really frustrating when you see people copy someone else too.
Where's the dedication?

I don't think the people who do this are really concerned about their dedication as much as they are the money they earn . That's one probable cause. I assume there might be more than one reason such as, language issues, or just being lazy but still wanting to find a good answer, just not wanting to put it in their own words . I imagine that this might happen a lot after awhile of mylotting but I will never do it, I like to translate my personality through my response I hope others who read this will do the same.
Thanks for posting!

The only thing I can think to say to these people is that they must be really desperate for the money. You can also report them if you wanted to. Copying and pasting other responses or information that is already in print, is against mylot rules. But who wants to be mean, not me. I personally wouldn't report someone because I feel sorry for them that they have come to such means to earn a little bit of money.
All we can do is keep posting our own words and expressions and views and make things interesting for people to read and respond to.
Your friend, Chris

Yes, I do care about the quality of my response. And, you can see for yourself, how good my responses are.
I care even about the response that I receive. In fact, some response that I have recd have been so bad, that I have stopped starting discussions. I now concentrate only on responding to quality discussions.
Thankfully, mylot does not allow copy and paste and that's why majority of discussions in my lot carry lot of depth and meaning.

I agree at first a lot of quality is shown in people's responses, but after you make a certain amount of postings you are then allowed to copy and paste. They block it so that there aren't any spammers within the forum who would do just that. I have found in past experiences that some people misuse their new privileges for what ever reason, I suspect its to earn the 'quality response' view , if I can spot it or it looks suspicious i always report it.
I believe Mylot wants new info, stuff that isn't already on the web, stuff that is insightful and unique. I will always come to mylot for that reason.

If it's not from my own pigment of imagination or not my own two cents then, i'd rather not say anything. it is important for me to be as honest as I can be by being myself, sharing my own thoughts, feelings and sometimes life story.
Because I do value what others has to say to me, too. Be it good or bad. What would i get if I just copy someone's words? Nothing but disrespect.;-)

Adding personality into a response not only makes for a good post that your satisfied with but also a good post that involves the reader Sometimes people will copy and paste medical advice straight from a site like WebMD and it's like... really I am so bored haha but yes, thoughts and experiences are a much better read.

I always try and have an original response. I was under the impression that it was against the policy of MyLot to have copy & paste articles. I thought that would be the same for all the sites! That seems like cheating to me and it kind of defeats the purpose of a discussion.

It is against the TOS of myLot to copy and paste either discussions (articles) or responses. However, that does not stop some people from trying it, although they do get caught sooner or later ... and usually it is sooner.

I care about the quality of my response. Since I am a relatively new MyLotter I am still trying to get the hang of things, but I always try to add to the discussion and make sure my post is spelled right and is grammatically correct. It shouldn't be that hard for people to come up with original and worthwhile discussion questions! :)

Welcome to mylot! I hope that you are enjoying it so far! Well when you get to 500 posts please do not fall into this abuse of the copy and paste tool. Its great for using sites as a reference or copying really long names or something... but thats about all. Happy lotting!

I think the quality of my response is very important. It will either impress the originator of the discussion or puts the person off. Therefore, I do my best to response well, whether it be a three sentence response or more.

I think the most interesting response is sometimes the one i don't agree with. It seems that there is more to talk about that way. As long as both parties remain in a neutral manner, i think it's fair to say its fun

I would never do that, copy and paste replies, because I think it must take longer than to think and write a bit yourself, and it is not very honest either. So I have to say, I really can't understand why people would do that.
I personally care about what I write, and since I am very opinionated, it is not very hard for me to come up with a view on most issues either...

I agree exactly on this subject. I mean if you are going to take the time to search, refine, and copy then paste, I mean you could have thought of a serious line of thought that as all original and very informative. thanks for posting

I don't do copy and paste when responding to any discussion here in mylot. I find it uneasy copying others opinion. Most of it comes from my thoughts and when I found a discussion where in I cannot relate, I just leave it behind and find another. As a newbie, I'm kinda having fun while responding to any topic so I believe I don't need to copy and paste.

wells as a newbie you and myself can't copy and paste till we reach a ground breaking 500 posts. however, it is great that you feel the need for individuality and the drive to seek out topics that are linear to your interests! Thanks for sharing and keep on postin!
