Commercial radio - is there NO originality anymore?

Whenever I try and find a radio station with some decent music, I get the feeling that I'm basically listening to one station that happens to own 20 different frequencies. The same songs every day, a ridiculously restrictive playlist, awful songs promoted simply because a "name" artist recorded them, and DJs who make the Girls of the Playboy Mansion look like the Convention of Ivy League Astrophysicists. If only some of the Internet stations had the funds to get FM/DAB licenses and sweep away some of the dross. Do I have a point or am I just bitter and twisted?

I don't like listening to music on the radio for that reason.. Its all the pop or dance music, or music that has a nice beat. I don't like that artists always chose those songs to be their singles. Yeah they're catchy but many of those artists have way better and original songs, but I guess they aren't "pop" enough for radio.

This is how a song gets overrated. A cool song comes out and every radio station would add them in their playlist. Overplay = Over rated = I dont wanna hear it anymore! XD This is why I only stick with downloading music and playing cd.
