What is the best batteries out there for a digital camera which needs a pair of AA batteries? Alkaline, Nickel-Cadmium, Lithium ion, etc?

I prefer the digital camera uses chargeable AA batteries. Because it is not expensive to buy the chargeable AA batteries. And it is easy to buy the AA batteries when the electricity runs out suddenly. I love China

Well I use Sanyo Eneloops which are NI-MH. They seem to be very well regarded. I am satisfied with their performance. I have heard though that plain old alkaline though are better to use.
