In order to become a full pledge nurse we have to educate ourselves with different concepts about nursing. This concepts we learned not on our own but with the help of our Professors and Clinical Instructors in school and different affiliating hospitals. Our main goal is to learn and absorbed all the knowledge and be able to develop our skills.
And in order to develop skills needed in caring for a client (patients) theories and concepts in school must be learned first. In here, we have concepts such as Maternal and Child Nursing, Pharmacology, Community Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Cancer Nursing, Legal management, Nursing Research and the list goes on.
So among this list what do you think is the hardest for you to comprehend?
I'm in my last year now as a student nurse and hopefully have my diploma next year, but up to now I'm still having a hard time dealing with PHARMACOLOGY and some concepts in MS Nursing such as fluid and electrolytes. These concepts are actually killing me each time we have to discuss them at class. And since I have this kind of problem, I now that I needed to work this out soon so I could pass the board exam.
So how about you? What concepts you're having a hard time with and how would you cope up with to be able to grasp every idea about them?...

As a student in school i had opted for science. My subject were biology, physics and chemistry. i took up these subjects with an aim in life. My aim was to become a nurse and take care to patients who have no one to attend to them. After passing my higher secondary examinations. I joined the nursing course and became a nurse. As a nurse i have to work very hard, although i knew that i would have to work almost a twenty hours a day i chose this profession so that i could be a really good and useful citizen of this country...Love of humanity is the goal of every nurse. To serve the suffering humanity is the work of saints and great woman if i could follow their footsteps and try to serve people like they do, i shall consider myself to be very lucky.
I try not to grumble when i an put to a left of inconvenience. In my profession i have to smile and make my patient comfortable and happy too....................
I LOVE TO DO WORK WITH PEOPLE.

I love Medical Surgical Nursing. What I hate most is Community Nursing.. I just think their concept sometimes are different with Med Surg because of the setting probably (community) and because of that I get confused. I just dont like it. My favorite is Psychiatric Nursing this is where I got the highest during my Nursing Examination... Hmmm.. Well,... Good luck to your profession hope you get a local job in the near future and dont end up landing a far off job like I do.

unah08 hi I am a senior citizen who was once in the same predicament but I gave up and regretted it all my adult life as if I had gotten a little more help about pharmacology and all it entailed I would have been able to become a registered nurse. Instead I worked most of my adult life as a nurse's aide. the pay is the only thing I really regretted as I loved working and caring for sick people but getting that diploma would have made a big difference in my life financially. So I am just responding to suggest to you to stick to it and get tutorial help if you need it and
get that diploma. m]
