I have recently upgraded to windows 7. Now a couple of days ago, i noticed the volume shrinking to 0% while I'm watching a video. When I try to bring it up back to 100%, it's not allowing me. it's like the cursor for the volume has a mind of it's own. Tried removing and updating the drivers, same issue. Any thoughts?

Its for the first time that i am listening someone encountering this kind of a problem.Make sure you have installed the right driver.Go to the hardware devices and check the hardware device that where it is successfully installed on the system or not. Also check your sound settings. For checking sound settings go to control panel then open sound option and check the voice of the speaker and microphone by going to their properties. In properties of speaker go to test tab and check that whether it is giving any output or not. If it does not work then do reply,i'll try to help you to my level best. HAPPY MYLOTTING

I actually tried that, still didn't work. My board can use two audio drivers, one from Microsoft which is high definition audio and the other is realtek. At first i thought it's the realtek driver so I uninstalled it and rolled back the high definition one. But it had the same problem. I'm not sure f this is spy ware or whatever. Sounds in the control panel shows all are ok. I ran the troubleshooter and it said no problems detected.

See my friend, your system will suport only one driver not two.May be the setup of both drivers are given in the installation disc.I recommend you to download the latest realtek audio driver for your system. It may be the case that you must be installing the driver that was given to you with the motherboard disc.Windows 7 requires the updated driver,so just download latest version of realtek audio driver and install it fresh on your pc.......

try to reformat it..maybe it could be fixed...though it's a long process but it's worth the try than go to some technicians and you'll pay them for a high cost...
