mobilephone in classes

I think that students should be able to takee mobile phones to school, however I think they should be turned off during classes.

I believe that the use of cell phone by students must be allowed, however strict rules and regulations should be applied on when and where you can be allowed to make outgoing calls or text, so as not to distract the conduct of the classes at hand..

mobile phones provide convenience and ease of communications... so, you should carry it with you all the time... even in school... what is bad is to use it while in class...

i dont think we should give the students in mobiles on schools and colleages.because they use it very bad,in india it was banded to operated mobiles in campus.

i think it is okay for students to take cell phones to schools and colleges. Some students might come from far away places and they might need the cell phones to call their parents. anyway, in my college we are allowed to bring cellphones but we have to give them to the office in-charge who puts them in the locker. later, while going home, we can take them back again. thats good isnt it?? what do you think?

From my point of view I think cellphones is not necessary for student because if they allow to carry cellphones they will be not able to concentrate in their studies.

y i think its necessary beacause nowdays life has become very complicated and nobody knows what will be going to happen in the next moment...students are alone after schools specially girls so i think mobile in school is ok if it is switched off..and after school students can switch on there cells

to bring cellphones to colleges is fine but i don't think it is necessary for school student.there are many proves that most of the school students can't really control themselves from the cellphones when they are having class.they can't focus on the subject and busy with their cellphones.i do not agree if parents allowed their child having a cellphones and bring it out to school.

No they should not allow to carry cellphones. What happens when they carry cell phones? They get distracted. Why? We know that we are suppose to keep our phone switched off when we are in school or college but we never listen to it and keep our phone in vibration mode. so whenever the person calls the phone vibrates which distracts the students thoughts and urge him to take the phone out see the person who have called him...... so the entire information given by teacher goes in vain. Instead student can sit at home and whenever they are interested they can open their book and study and directly attend their exams.

It is very easy to make rules by school authorities and ban cellphones in school compound but i don't think it is going to be followed by students. There should be some middle of the road option . Cell phones should be allowed in school campus but students should switch off their cellphones during classes. Cellphones are not necessary for students but reality is that nowadays children don't go out of the house without their cellphones.

I believe it is necessary for students to bring their cellphones with them in school. Unlike before, cellphones have become a necessity. A necessary communication tool for emergency and very important situations. Some schools still don't allow it though. I think they should reconsider this because gone are the days that cellphones are still luxuries.

i feel having a cellphone brought to school and college is a just in cause matter that students need. the student may need to be contacted for an emergency or just a certain matter that needs to be dealt with.

Many students do sport or some club activities after school, or going to a party perhaps and they'll need that cell to get in contact with their family for simple transportation needs. My school policy with phones is really simple. During school, if they see em, they take em. The idea is to dump your cell at the bottom of your bag, turned off and on silent, and then use it when you need it. No problem.

When I was still teaching in the university, one of the rules in my class, is that students should not use their cellphones. During the first day of classes, I already told them about that rule and if they are not going to follow it then they live me no choice but to get it and claim in the student's affairs office.

I think that students should take the phones to schools and colleges, I think that these days it has become a need. However, I do not think that students should be allowed to use them whilst in class, not only distraction to them, but to other students as well. I think that as far as the phones are concerned, as long as they are either switched off or on silent, but kept away out of sight during class, there is no problem. However of course all students should be cautious with carrying these around at school, because they could get stolen or lost.
