I was taught during my Office Procedure class way back in college, that one of the etiquette that a formal person must observe is to observe formality while you are in a formal place where a meeting is going to be held. Nowadays, use of cellphone is widely practiced of course. But you must turn it off even before the meeting starts because it will surely disturb the meeting. When your phone rings, your attention will of course be diverted to it which is not a proper behavior.

i guess its not good manner to use cp while on meeting as it can distract the whole people and what if they are in the middle of discussion, as professional its our responsibility to turn it off while on meeting and if theres a call and if we think its important then you can answer it outside and not with every one is around and while having discussion.

I would not reply to a call, but I might reply to a text message. It also matters how important the meeting is and what part of the meeting you are currently in. If the situation didn't really matter, it's fine to reply back to a text message, but if you are in a very important part of the meeting, I would have my cell phone off so that it does not distract me.

I don't reply to cellphone calls unless it is really urgent. The way we are set up today, I guess I'm the last person my loved ones would call when I'm at work because I'm a bit far from them. My parents are just a couple of blocks away from my family so they call each other for emergency situations.

No,I would't.Because I think it's an unpolite behavior.
If the person call you again and again. Then I think maybe it's a urgent call.
Then I will go to the outside to pick up.
