I Was Once a Newbie Too!

We all were a newbie in mylot before. We were all risk takers at first and we were like a baby trying to satisfy our curiosities and we all have committed mistakes here in there in the past and sometimes even now.
I was just curious. I want to know how was mylot when you joined? I mean how was the community, what kind of discussions were usually made and how do you think mylotters go about posting and stuff?
When I first joined mylot I didn't respond to any discussion instead I made my own. I made a discussion in the gaming category and I was really happy when people started to respond in it and of course I somehow know what to do and I commented back to all who have responded.
During those times I've seen people making discussions about why their discussion were not being responded even if they seem to be very interesting and I've seen people making discussions about "Is it better for our earnings to write discussions or to respond?" and the most answer I have seen was it's better to respond and sometimes make your own discussion too and that is from mylotters who actually have more than three thousand posts.
I've seen group of lotters who actually loves barging in and if you have seen and read how they respond it seems as though they are just chatting. Some mylotters give a fuss about it saying that they are going out of topic and this is not a chat oriented site so they should not do it here. At first I was saying yes to the nay sayers and I agree to them that those mylotters are really getting off topic but in reality I was envious and I want to join their bandwagon because they seem so close and they seem to enjoy themselves and they actually earn by doing it. Alas I was given a chance and yes they have welcomed me warmly and that started my barging in scheme and I'm really enjoy doing it until now.
There was also this glitch that kept people from logging in and those who were online during the glitch were trapped and cannot post anything
Anyway that was my newbie adventure How was yours?

Me as a newbie, I often respond to discussions than starting my own. Then, after a day or two, I started to make one and am happy that somehow, someone responded to my post. well its great to be here. I mean, at first it was very awkward for me to start a discussion cause I don't know what or where to start. I've read a lot of the post of others who posted theirs and I realized they just post what comes into their mind, or something happened that day. Reading those thought me much and grateful that now, I could respond easily to the topics I loved to.
Now, I'm enjoying my time here in mylot.

yes by reading and participating in discussions we get to be comfortable on how we respond to discussions. When you start gathering friends you get to be more comfortable also and there are more avenues for you to earn and learn. Also don't be afraid in barging in your friends box because in doing so you are helping yourself and your friend too. Mylot is a wonderful place I'm sure you will be delighted as you stay longer and meet many other lotters from all over the world

I like to engage people that I meet, so when I first got to MyLot all the discussions I liked or that interested me I commented on them. Today, I've actually made two new friends and I only joined last week. Almost, every comment I've made as gained other comments. This is a fun place, with people who express real questions and they are looking for real answer. You get the opportunity to express yourself and maybe help someone in the process and I really like that part. It seems like a nice community and I'm glad to be a part of it. I'm' probably still considered to be a Newbie but that's okay.

I'm glad that you are enjoying mylot. I'm sure it would be more enjoyable if you find more friends and you get to interact with each of them everyday. I hope we could interact with each other too in many discussions to come. Also I'm happy that you have a wonderful mylot newbie experience

I think I was lucky enough that when I first started here, there were also a lot of newbies. And there were a lot of helpful 'senior lotters' that came out to help us. I learned from all their discussions. And slowly I tried to build up my rep here.
Maybe it is still that way now. I still see a few people trying to help out newbies. And I try to return the favor as well.

I see. I guess you've been bouncing yourself to the top until now I guess it really helps when we see senior lotters help out the new ones. I see there have been more newbies that are currently enjoying mylot because of the great help they receive from us(I just have to include myself)

When I was a newbie, I just tried to explored all the tabs here in mylor and just experimented on how to respond, how to make a discussion and how to use the search engine. I also tried to learn how to cashout, then later, I found out that cashout is automatic as long as you reach the minimum cashout from the previous month. I remember my first cashout, i got so excited that I suddenly got so active just to reach the cashout for the month. lol. It is usually very easy to recognize newbies because they usually post the same discussions, like "how to earn in mylot" etc.. lol. And when I see those discussions, I remember myself as a newbie. lol.

It's good to remember those days when we are confused about everything. I know some people here who are actually helping and guiding newbies even if they would lose some post after it. You just inspired me to be very active and reach the payout once again. I really need that inspiration now and motivation

I have not been a member for three months yet and so it is me as a member and not the site that has changed.
I was guilty of not reading all the guidelines properly and must have driven the 'veterans' mad with my constant questions, I think that I actually started more discussions then than I do now, I find that I tend to prefer to respond to more discussions than starting them.
I have plucked up the courage to do a few tasks and I have received my first months payment and am happily waiting for the second month's later this week.
I think that I have become generally more tolerant to other peoples cultures and ideas (although I do still have the odd heated discussion - as those around with the 'women drivers' one last night will know!!)
I am happy to barge and to join in with more fun discussions that I was wary of when I first joined and I have made many 'friends'; all in all I can say that I am VERY glad that I joined this site, long may it reign!!

I'm guilty of not fully reading the guidelines for the first time too and by that I got one or two discussions that were deleted. I can say I'm 85% obedient because everything is a first for me and I don't want to blew the opportunity because of my stupidity.
Three months and you got almost the same post count as me. Wow that's something to be envious of. I wish I could be that active too

hi hexeduser22 I had much the same experiences as you but I soon learned
I liked responding better than making discussions but I will make a discussion when something pops into my head that I feel I could share and ask questions about with others. I have learned to barge in mostly with my mylot friends but not always but I do try to keep on the subject as much as possible.I have added so many friends my list is unwieldy but I hate
to turn anyone down. I have done some wedding out of people who posted ten or twenty posts then have not come back for months.

I don't turn down friend requests too. You've been one of the foremost people I always try to follow when I was starting and guess what I even tried to monitor how many post you make per day but I was not able to conclude anything for it's not everyday that I chance upon you in a discussion. If I remember correctly you were around twenty thousand post when I joined mylot

hey dude hexe hi,
when i started in my lot ( of course 2 weeks ago may be)i was aware not to start too many discussions and i have to respond.
so i was starting a few discussions but even they were not getting any responses.u can still check them from my profile but slowly i started making friends here then all of a sudden my discussions were improving.....
my 2 discussions were deleted (my best with some 16 replys)due to voilaton of guide lines but my last 2 discussions have already reached 20 responses and i am very happy.
:D
replys might still come i guess.
in the start whenever i had a doubt about something i used to start a discussion on it to get information on instead of reading all faqs.. :P
hey can u tell me when will i get to copy and paste?
im looking forward for it.but it says some 500 reputation necessary...
how to get 500 reputation?

Good luck in getting $300 a month. Its not entirely impossible but I can say its definitely hardwork. The minimum payout of mylot is $10. I hope you enjoy your stay here and welcome to mylot
