Anyone else from the UK, Scotland in particular totally disappointed with the current state of the hockey leagues? There is no solid UK league, and no national team, so there is nothing for the kids to aim for when starting out!
The Northen League is a joke, with 4 teams just playing each other over and over again, and then the Celtic cup - same teams once again! There is no scope for the winning teams of the Semi-pro leagues to move up the Elite league and no means of the losing teams to move down.
There is no structure, or no aim, and I know we have talent, it just isn't utilized, what do you guys think?!

I'm not from UK or Scotland, but I emphatize with you. I'm a big hockey fan, and it would be nice to see other leagues around the world. Just to discover talents from all over. And it would be great if a Brit or a Scot make it to the NHL, if no one has made it yet. Or if a national or a private team emerged and joined the KHL. Then there would be a European champion that could have a series with the north american champion from the NHL.
I keep dreaming...

I totally agree! It would be so popular! The government is always complaining about the youths of the street and their aggression etc, hockey is a fun and safe way from them to let it out!!!
I think if there was some sort of European league it would be a good idea, it would give people encouragement, right now, hockey is one of the most expensive sports in the UK. Most people don't even know that their town has a local team, but the fans that come are loyal and follow the boys all over scotland! If there was more order, such as like in football or basketball, there would be so much money could be made from it!
Maybe I am just a fan, dreaming...
