Can you make friends in your profession.

yes i can...being a marketing manager its important for me to have a good relation with one and all. I have to make friends and build rappot with all. I have a good repution with all my collegues.

Personally I think it is possible. But friends in this kind of environments do have limitations and boundaries because you have to understand that ,yes, you are in a competitive environment. You may not always take it personally when things are done or things are said that are related to work because it is different at work. It is best that these friends should not be the friends that you tell your deepest darkest secrets because they may use this against you. You however can have these friends to hang out and have fun every once in a while to de-stress from the workload that you have

as an HR Specialist i do have lots of friends.. their is nothing wrong being friends with co workers,.... i think it will help you professionally.. But also you need to make sure the limitation of being friends and with work...

I've not worked outside the house in the last four years. However, in the last job that I had before I decided to be a stay at home mother, no, it really wasn't easy to make friends with the people that I worked with because the field was mostily individual work. However, in the job prior to that, I actually made friends that I still possess today and it has been over five years since I worked there. That job was in a hospital and I worked as a nursing assistant.

We cared a lot of patients everyday and reaching out to them and establishing rapport is very important and useful in gaining their trust to make care a lot easier to the patient..In your situation yes all of you are in a competition especially if your grabbing for a promotion, but lets be professional, yes in working hours you are all in competition but outside the office hours of off from work its much better to hang out together and be friends, thats how a professional individual acts..
