Have You Ever Experienced Any Sort Of Natural Disaster?

Has anyone here ever been in a natural disaster such as hurricanes, earthquakes, or the like?
I've never been in one myself, thankfully. Though where I live has come close to getting tornados before, all in one day. That was several years back when funnel clouds kept being spotted.
I've never come close to anything else though.
Has anyone else ever have? Where were you at? Was it frightening for you and all that?

Yes, I have. I've been in a couple of earthquakes before. The first one I remember I was in elementary school in the Bay Area. I was either in 3rd or 4th grade at the time. All the students in the class were taking a test when it hit. One of the students said earthquake and we all calmly went under our desks, like we had been taught to do so many times before.
The other earthquake was another one that hit San Francisco back in '89, though I was about 100 miles away at the time. I remember feeling woozy and a little ill when it hit. I didn't realize it was an earthquake until I got home and a friend called me saying that the Bay Bridge fell down. I couldn't believe it...that is, until I turned the TV on and saw it for myself. All the destruction that came from this earthquake brought shivers to my spine. Even more so when I went down there and saw it in person not even a month later. It was definitely a frightening experience for me. So much so, that I still get nightmares about earthquakes from time to time.

I have experience having earthquakes but the most prominent of them was when I was 6 years old that was `18 years ago and the only thing that I can remember was the shaking of the things inside the house and even the shaking of our old house. I don't remember if I got scared during that time but I know I was curious why the earth was moving back then!

It happend in march, 1977. I was 6 and I was preparing for bed time.
I remember things shaking inside the house and a lot of noises from the breaking windows. I remember my cousin was saying that a big monster was dancing on the roof of the building, and my father was grabbing me and my brother. He took my brother on his right shoulder and me under his left arm, and run out of the building. I remember I was wondering why my father run with no shoes. I will allways remember the blood stains on the corridor's floor, as my father cut his feet in the cullet while he was trying to save us. Fortunately our house didn't colapse. But there were a lot of buildings that colapsed during the '77 earthquake.

Fortunately, I didn't live in a country that's been effected by tornado, earthquake or such. The only natural disaster that I've been through before was flood. And fortunately as well, it's not my house been effected by the flood, but the areas around my village. So we were like living in an island for three days. Around that time, food was expensive as we're unable to get out from our village (rip off~~~). Also, water and electric supply were cut off for safety reason. It's like back to the past where there's no electric and water supply.
