I know that patience is a virtue and We should always work hard or work our way up and all, but when do you think it is time to say " i quit" not necessarily because you are going to retire, I mean like those factors that push an employee to quit. Now, I got some friends who have been loyal to their companies although they don't like their job. But I so have some friends who quit so easily. giving up and all. DO you like your job right now? or Have you quit already? or do you think that quitting needs a lot of thinking to do?

hi ivy I am retired for several years but the boss from hell retired me as she told me she hated doing it as I was the best employee she had ever had, but I was old. her exuse the only reason for firing me she gave was my age. also she refused to admit that the second in command who disliked me had told her to fire me or she would quit. she disliked elderly women.,okay so headquarters fired both of them myboss and the second in command for using ageism to fire me. I as rehired but they waited a tad too long. I had had a bad fall and had smashed my left shoulder. So when I got a call to come back to work it was so ironic as I was in the hospital just back from having a shoulder joint replacement. so I said, that's very kind of you to rehire me but I am now unable to page any more.I had a bad fall and it is going to take time to rehabilitate my left shoulder. so you know what? I guit. hire someone else and do not ever hire anyone over forty okay. I quit. right now.I really enjoyed telling them that I quit.I was 80 so it was okay. I spent 23 years there and then was got rid of like anb old shoe.

Damn what happen to the good old days when the people at you're age stop to work and start to rest and enjoy to the rest of the life. That's why i told in my comment before, they think that we are they slaves, the politics and banks make it that way to never have enough money or don't reach to retirement age. And don't worry for that boss who retired u for nothink,(only for that second in comand midget-no disrespect to litle peopl)Soon or later they gonna pay cuz-what goes around really come back around, too bad is cuz in most cases they children gonna pay the price, but don't feel pity on them, they deserve it.

It depends on the context. If you mean "I quit" right now because I hate my job, and I'm walking off... That's a very bad thing, and should be done rarely, if not never. It's a bad thing because companies tend to talk to each other. If the word gets out that you ditched your last company, you may have a hard time getting hired by another. It's also a bad thing, just because it shows a lack of integrity on the person part. You agreed to do the job. You should keep your word. Being honest and faithful is a rare but great qualities. Now that said, sometimes there is grounds to walk off the job. I specifically had one boss who was an absolute jerk. Treated me like a dork for months. One day after some particularly mean insults, I finally had enough, and after I finished up the job I was working on, I simply walked up to him, told him I was done with this job, and I was going home. No yelling. No screaming. No insults back. No breaking everything, or leaving my work all over the place unfinished. Just finished up, said I was heading home, and walked out. Now the other way to quit is to find another job, and turn in your two weeks notice. That's fair. If you find a better job, let your boss know that in two weeks, you'll be moving on because you found a better place to work. Most managers understand that. Leave on good terms. And if that job doesn't work out, you perhaps can come back, so at least you'll have a steady income.

I got fired on my first job. This is my second job now and although I hate it sometimes, I stick to it. I think people don't really hate their jobs, they just want to complain. If they really hate their jobs they'd just quit. If people complain about their jobs but they don't quit, then they like their jobs and just sometimes find something to complain about.

I am satisfied with my recent job right now . Because my boss is a very kind man and he treat employees so kindly . We can do our own things in the office ,if our working is finished , and our boss do not interfere our affairs at that moment . So I am pleased with my now work . Do you have a kind boss now ?

It depends on what is at stake when one says "I quit". If your health and sanity are at stake due to the job and all other attempts to improve the working situation fail, perhaps throwing in the towel seems sensible. I guess we must know what we want in life and career. However, do not quit too easily if one hasn't even tried to improve the working situation! and give it some time.

Heya ivy excelent questions u put on the table.First i wanna talk about that wicked circle going on today in our work life.First of all most of the bosses thinks that we are they slaves and they forgot about that money for work market, they think that now they own us.Ofc if we people do like we should do-keep together and stand up for what is not right no matter if that happens to someone else,we should be fine. But it's not like that cuz most of the bosses know's that if he do somethink unfair coleges will not stand for that man or woman. Here we have some scheme they use i think they learn it from capitalists from amerika but probobly u gonna tell me if that is right. They hire some one for some work;the boss is talking thinks like that-if u learn fast and if u are good we gonna keep u and we gonna make youre salary biger in ?time. But he tell this only cuz he need some extra hand for that ?time and most of the coleges knew it too but they don't tell u cuz they thinks that if the boss share that knowledge with them, they are some kind of firends(LOL).And with the coming of this time no matter if u are doing grate even beter from some of the coleges or u can do somethink that other who is in that work for long time but can't do it.No matter what the reason is with coming of that ?time that the boss promise if u do blah blah,he gonna rise you're salary he start to make u miserable and doing some mental excruciation just to make u quit. Cuz if u don't he got to relase u and if got contract he got to pay some penalty, and he absolutly don't wanna do that. I got some selfesteem and from the sports i train i like to speak with eye to the peoples and in start i told them that i don't like this kind of game, and if he hire me only for some time that he need's extra hand i want to know that from the begining-just to not expect somethink from that work.I don't know about u i suppose u are female, but i'm 105 kg male and when i feel they either way start that kind of game i congratz they're mother and all his family right in his face and i quit no matter what. And if he want we can get head to head or toe to toe but in all cases for now they don't want to do that. Just keep you're head up and don't let them to throw u down cuz the mistake is not in you.Without personaly know's u i think the mistakes is not in u cuz i see this happen to so many people.

It depends on the personality of the person. I know that I don't like to give up easily. I have a crappy job that is full of stress for not enough pay. I would love to be able to quit but I like having a place to live and food. So I just put up with the job as I try to find something better. There are a lot of people where I work that just quit or not show up for work at all. I think about how I can make it better and find a better position where I will be happy.

Hi, iveygrey. It's funny because I am desperately looking for a new job right now. I have said "I quit" about a month ago on my present job. I am no longer happy. I have come to the point that I am just so lazy, so unmotivated and so...lazy with my present job. I have thought hard about this and once I have somewhere I could transfer, then, I am definitely packing my bags.

When to say quit? When you really cannot hold it anymore. Yeah, of course, quitting needs a lot of thinking. Moreover the one who lives from his own earning already. But for me, job isn't about earning the highest salary only. Job is about being happy of what you do while you are earning at the same time. Unfortunately, I myself haven't found a job that can make me earn by loving doing it. I really wish I could publish my book and start earning and start making my living by it. But, life isn't that easy for me to just doing that. At this time being I found doing mylot is quite a nice job to do. Because it can make me earn by writing and discussing people's problem, sharing thoughts and any kind like that. It is not that I like to get involve in anyone's problem.. I just like to share my thoughts and experience to others. I am trying to find out, whether doing mylot things will make me able to make my living better than my boring job in the office. If it can, probably I will quit my job and start working on mylot. Will it be possible??

Well "never say never",failure and success are part of life and we should celebrate both of them.We should be patient in our jobs and do our work efficiently but if it gets too much on our nerves then its better to quit that rather then just sticking to it and get frustated every day.

Hi I am enjoying my job best and have no intention to quit it at this point of time. One should change the job when he is at pick in his performance in his present job. This gives him best chance to get better jump in his career.

I believe staying in one company is still the best thing. it's hard to transfer from one company to another. I have been actually doing this for the poast years and I haven;t reached any. I did got promoted but in my age now, I could have been in a higher position. Just need to be patient and withstand changes.

First, you must decide what you will do before you quit? Will you work at home, will you find another job or do you have another job already lined up? Do you have the discipline it takes to work online from your home or from a library or any place with Internet access everyday for a set number of hours without getting distracted? Are you ready to step out into an area of independence that can seem frightening at times and may not always yield the money you want in the time frame you think it should? Are you ready for adventures on the Internet that lead you to know job experiences? If you can truthfully answer these questions and you are at peace with your answers then you are ready to quit your regular job and take the plunge.

I really like my job but I dont like the company where i am working. I think they have the worst management and a manager who doesnt know what he is doing. I am about to quit but I still have to look for a replacement before I quit it. I found one a month ago but I discovered their schedule isnt fit with my schedule so I just have to stay in my company and wait for another opportunity.

Winners never quit and quitters never win. I have been in this job for the past 5 months and i have take a lot of pain to adjust myself in thei company, in the new work environment and its totally a new field. I work away from home....and i have come across some problems back home. Somtimes i have felt that i need to quit and go back home. but i decided if i have a big problem I have a bigger GOD to take care of me.
