God in a child

I had earlier stated that we can see God in a child. Once, I had seen God in the eyes of my grandson when he openly stated before my wife that I was telling lies and he was right.
Yesterday, I had gone to the market and I saw a family of four (husband, wife, one boy of about 6-7 years and a girl of 5-6 years) eating some snacks which they had purchased from a road side stall. I saw an old woman of about 65-70 years begging nearby and she asked the family also for some food. It was apparent that both husband and wife were ignoring her and the husband also waved her to go away. He also shouted on her. Suddenly, I saw the girl calmly walking to her and handing over her plate, full of snacks, and she started telling something to her which I guessed that she was asking the poor woman to take the food.
Don't you agree that it was God in her which prompted her to help the old woman unlike her parents. What is required we should encourage such positive attitude in our children and let God grow as future citizens of the World instead of demons who are in plenty in all societies.

Hello udaymohan,
i think u are right - u can see God in a child.
Children are pure, God is too.
Adult people think that children are naive, but i think they just can feel when they have to say something or to say nothing. They can feel, deep in their heart what is right and what is wrong, they can feel the pain of someone who is around ...
Yes, God is in the eyes of the children.

Hi Uday... Wonderful incident! I have not personally experienced any such incident yet... But I am sure the kids have those angelic minds to help others... A child is innocent and its mind is full of idealistic ideas... Which makes them act kindly... That is the reason why we love kids so much... Their innocence and curious minds make them superior to us... The younger the kid, the more innocent and nice it is... Many times, I have experienced flood of joy simply by looking at a toddler's smile...
Unfortunately we can't make them remain so forever... The world is so full of crooks and cunningly wise guys that the innocent one can not survive... I remember the line from Green Day's song here- '... the innocent can never last...' To preserve their innocence to good effects, we need a revolution- the revolution of Human Mind...

hi udaymohan yes indeed God can go to the hearts of children and help them to be the best they can be as they are innocense personified.
We adults sometimes refuse to let God guide us as we changed from innocent child hood and become cold hearted like her parents were.God had tried but was turned away by the insensitivity of the adults. This kindness this touch by God should be maintained in all of us but sadly a lot of us refuse him entrance at all.He said if you help e ven the least of these'you also help me. So the child in us often hears this but the world outside sometimes makes us ignore our own sense of rightness. sad.

The child heart is pure and full of light.
The child hasn't get know his EGO yet.
And he respect older people.
So there we really can see the God presence.
The child's human side we can sometimes see when he plays with other children - he at times seems selfish and avaricious, but it is only in the germinal study. If the parents see that, then they can learn him more sincerity and generosity.
Only if we, parents, could act more according our teachings. We know that this is how God wants to see us. But we can fulfill His will only partly. We can help our neighborhoods, friends and family members, but when we see some beggar on the street it sometimes can make us angry. Why? Because our selfishness start to speak - he, the beggar, is human as I and he could work as me, but he has chosen to sit here on the street and beg for money. We don't think deeper, we don't want to know the true reason why he is sitting here. We only want to let our Egoism to flow sometimes.
God is acting in us as much in the children, but we are suppressing His presence and will. So He is more visible in child, who let Him work hand in hand with him.

I wouldnt exactly call it god being in a child, but I think children are innocent beings and when thy're little they wanna see people happy and they also don't understand yet that there's a wicked side of people too, so that's their innocence that makes them so kind and all. also it depends on how they're taught to appreciate other people by their parents or grandparents.

Hi udaymohan
I agree with you. I will not call it a god in child. But i will see innocence of child, his ability to see all human being as equal, his ability to tell truth without fear(As in case of your grand son) his desire to see every human being happy, in the incidence. Such virtues in child makes them real human being. As the child grows and starts understanding wicked people around and learns worldly matters his these virtues gets lost. You have rightly said we parents can play a role by encouraging child to retain those virtues as he grows up. But many of us fail to do so. Those who are able to do so becomes Parents of great soul on this world.

I dont think that God is inside the child. The child is just innocent. Her mind and heart is still not trashed by evil, it is still very pure, so she does good things. The only time wherein a person can have God inside her/him is when she/he asks God to come inside, accept him as Lord and Savior, which only happens when you have a mind on your own (can distinguish right from wrong).
