Are you the type of woman who likes to be pampered constantly?? Do you like your hair and nails done?? If so, how often?? I like to be pampered just as much as the next woman, but some of my friends are always in the hair salon or always in the nail shop... spending hours of their time... "beautifying" themselves. Me?? I don't go to the hair salon very often unless I want my hair cut... or want something special like dye.. everything else I can do from home without the spending of $40-$80 every two weeks in the beauty salon. Also, I only need a manicure/pedicure a few times a summer as that can get quite expensive, too. I feel like women need to "treat" themselves... but I don't "treat" myself as often as every two weeks. What about you ladies here on myLot??

Hi, I believe every women like to be pampered. For me, I will not pampered myself for pedicure and manicure. I prefer to go shopping or have a cup of coffee for relaxing. Frankly speaking, I have not been pampered myself for quite some times. Since the arrival of my son, my day is super busy. Being a full time mom, I hardly have some free time for shopping as my son sticks to me like super glue. Only lately, he has started his school, then during morning time I will be more free. But I still have houseworks and cooking to do everyday and 24 hours is actually not enough for me.

It's not just woman who like to be pampered every now and then. Men like to be pampered aswell. I really enjoy going to get my hair done, or going for a massage, have a meal cooked for you etc. It makes you feel relaxed and good about yourself, nothing wrong with that in my humble opinion.

Hi, Mrscallands22. I enjoy shopping as well. I think it's also a way to pamper our selves. Dining out and watching movies, also counts.

@shia.. yes children do seem to slow you down quite a bit and we as mothers tend to focus all of our attention then on them, diverting it from ourselves. But, sometimes we still have to take a day out just for us... I love shopping, too. It's relaxing... but I don't like to linger in stores all day long trying on things either. @haddowz LOL o yes I imagine men LOVEEEE to be pampered... especially by us as women. We have the magic touch lol. And you're right.. there's nothing wrong with that at all. EVERYONE, whether male or female, needs time to themselves and deserver a little pampering every now and again. Thank you both for sharing!!

Hi, Yes, I do like to be pampered, but as inexpensively as possible. Some of my friends are also constantly getting their beauty treatments from one salon or another. I personally am afraid to get my manicure and pedicure done at a shop. I have my foot soaker and all my files, scissors, clipper, and nail polishes at home and I do my own, whenever I want to. I don't need to put extensions on my nails, because I have alway had long and strong nails that I am constantly clipping back. My natural hair is rarely seen; it is healthy and unbleached, I prefer to wear different styles of wigs offen. Wigs seem to be the rage right now, whether you have hair or not. Unlike some of my friends, (I do have some friends who don't go to salons either) I would rather keep my money in my pocket for more important things, especialy when I can get nearly the same results in the safety of my own home. Some friends don't need to spending money at these salons, because after they are all dolled up, they are as poor as a church mouse until next payday. And you know what that means, here comes borrowing.

Hi, I glad you liked it. Keeping up or trying to with the Joneses seems to be the norm in our society, but when the economy went bust we all found out that the Joneses were fronting too. Losing their treasury left and right.

Borrowing leads to bad news. Lol@ the church mouse. That is crazy and you're right, a lot of women do that, too. I've witnessed it the hours I dragged myself to sit in a beauty salon a few times.. They are gossiping more than doing hair and sharing everyone's information... on top of that.. charging an arm and a leg while some of the women in there are fronting like they have all this money and really don't. I condone the women that get it from their significant other or so... but just trying to portray the image?? I've seen lots of Nicki Minaj lookalikes running around and then they are walking smh... Thanks for your comment!!

You're absolutely right about that. No one still points fingers at them either... they are still blowing unnecessary money that they know sooner or later they will get back from us. It's sad really. I don't know who came up with the concept of keeping up the with Joneses.... but that person should've also been familiar with coveting... which is what that is... being envious of your neighbor. I wish everyone was just happy with what they wanted... They say that money is the root of all evil, but I beg to differ. Money is the source of everyone's problems.

I love to pammper myself and be pampered. I don't receive pampering or papmer myself very often. I wish I could afford to do it more often though. I get ym hair done about ocne a year, I have never had a manicure or a pedicure or a facial. I have had massages, but only because they were doctors orders. I have never been to a spa. I would like to. I sometimes feel that I need a day of papmering myself. I am always stressed out. Perhaps I am over stressed. But a day to myself with someone papmering me would be wonderful! The only thing I treat myself to that I really can't afford to is my hair. I love my hair and wish I could afford to get it done every few weeks, alas I can not.

You can still pamper yourself from home!! Sometimes a visit to the spa is nice for massages, facials and everything you listed above. But, you can learn to do your hair just as well at home.. you can purchase the products that your salon uses online, at the salon or at a local beauty store and do it from home!! I have done the same and we can all do each other's hair (me, my sister, my mom) just like they do it in the salon. We have the same flatirons and blowdryers. And, nail design is easy.. but if you don't know how to do that. Just get a pedicure kit and do the cleanse, soak, and all of that. I usually also soak my feet in milk because it has been proven to make your feet softer to the touch and hold moisture. After that just polish them and I guarantee you will still feel pampered! Thanks for your comment!!

No I don't treat myself at all at places like this... I have a woman come round to cut my hair every 6 weeks, and if I want something extra done I will pay the extra, but generally I just get a trim, which costs me £10.00. I dye and colour my own hair... it is cheaper than at the shop, and I love doing my own make-up etc, and am a bit of a Avon shopper at the moment. Other than that I guess if I was to got to a shop to get some kind of beauty treatment then I would choose an eyebrow wax, but I am petrified of the pain, so I have been putting it off lol... I just get fed up of trying to do my eyebrows myself lol... Even if I could afford to though, I would not go out and have so much treatment, especially when it can be cheaper at home doing it yourself, I am not the kind of person who wants so many treats for myself.

You sound a bit more like me. Except I don't have someone come by the house.. I don't think we have people that do that around here. Have you tried using an eyebrow trimmer which is a convenient stick with a razor on the end lol or perhaps getting them threaded?? Threading your eyebrows is painless and costs less than $12. It also lasts longer... lasting up to 2-3 months. You should try it!

I want to be pampered. I think everyone does. But it's not wise to spend too much just to feel good. You can pamper yourself at less cost. Do your own nail polish. Buy a foot spa set and do it yourself. Light a scented candle in your room and listen to soothing music. There are countless ways...

I couldn't agree more. Just enjoying yourself.. your own thoughts.. the quiet... or maybe a warm hot bath could do the trick. A good book. There ARE countless ways, yes.. Thanks for commenting!!

Hey i do pamper myself but not like so often i dont think its necessary 2 beutify yourself as much becouse i believe salons are just making money and you dont need to run there every week! yes and like you said it is very pricy i mean it can get to expensive if i had lots of cash lieing around may be i would run there but in my current situation i dont think so...:D

I agree unless you just have it like that... but even if one did... they STILL shouldn't do it like that. Salons are getting very pricy, you're right and then taking forever to do a simple job that you can do at home or get someone else to do like a friend, sister, mother, etc. A woman should always know how to do her own hair anyway at some point unless it's complicated like braids or something.. Thanks for your comment!!

It's not that I don't like to be pampered, but I get very stressed if it goes on and on. I have better things to do with my time. So a hair cut every 6 weeks, and doing my own nails is just about all I can manage.

I understand that. I don't see how some women spend hours and hours just sitting around.. and a lot of salons overbook just like doctor's offices.. so you may be waiting for an hour or so before you're even seen!! And I also hate sitting under the dryer... such a waste of time. Thanks for your comment!!

Hi friend,I am not interested much in pampering constantly but only once in a while.I dont go to the parlours too very often,I dye my hair myself at home and do facials myself.I very rarely go to the parlours.I feel its very expensive and if I need to attend some special occassions I like to go and not all the time .I also feel that if we pamper ourselves very often using chemicals in the long run it would definetely spoil our skin texture. So I like to take healthy diet and drink plenty of water which will give a natural glow to both our skin and hair.thanks for sharing.Happy mylotting.

I agree with you.. along with so many of the other women who've commented on this discussion. Outside hair/nail care is just getting too expensive. Spending $80-$100 at the salon for just your hair is too much, just to have to return within the month and do it all over again. I think it's a waste of time. I love to be beautiful as much as the next woman, but I can beautify myself from home. I definitely agree with your comments about skin texture. A lot of people don't realize that wearing makeup and things of that nature... damages your skin the long run. It changes the texture, moisture and coloration of your skin. After that, then you'd be fully dependent on it. Eyeshadow, Mascara and lipgloss are OK in my book. Even blush is OK sometimes. But, foundation... the liquid pouring makeup that is like clay... that couldn't possibly be good for the skin. It covers the pore completely trapping dirt and grime into your face that makeup remover may not get deep enough to clean... It's hard being us! LOL Thanks for your comment!!

i also don't pamper myself that much like the usual women does...i only go to the salon for a hair cut and that is very very seldom. in my own opinion, pampering oneself doesn't only mean the things you've mentioned, i think you also pamper yourself when you do things for your own satisfaction - like eating the kind of food you really love, going to places you've always wanted and buying the stuffs that will give you a feeling of satisfaction.

Hi! Of course I liked to be pampered. I love going to the spa atleast ones a month. It helps me relax and I really feel the stress is off my shoulder after a good massage. I go to the salon atleast every 3 mos. if I want to have a hot oil or a change of hair color. For my nails I have it done atleast ones a month. Happy Mylotting!

I hear you girl! That sounds so wonderful... a getaway out of all of this heat.. and just escape into scented oils lol. I haven't been to a spa yet, but I want to someday soon. The spas... aren't really "spas" around here.. more like conjoined with tanning salons. Thanks for sharing!!

hi there, I LOVE TO BE PAMPERED. Thats every girls dream to be pampered. In my case I really love the feeling to be pampered by my husband, though in simple way but it makes me feel that im important. He goes with me in parlors for facial and body massage. He also bought me some clothes with a surprise. But most of all every night he massage me and it really feels good, after that he gives me my vitamins.Im not like other girls that are really obsessed with their hairs and nails. I usually get busy. I only have my nails cleaned in every 3 weeks or worst a month.lol.

Yes!!! I loved being pampered by my husband, too... it seems that sometimes the cure to our problems is simply a man's touch (when the problems are simple..). So, I can definitely relate there. I have yet to go to a spa. I would love to go one day and have the WORKS. The mud bath, the cucumbers on my eyes, the full body massage with scented foreign oils, manicure, pedicure, makeover, and last but not least.... the sauna. We don't have many spas in this area.. and the ones that we do have are very small or either are partially tanning salons... and I definitely don't need a tan lol. Thanks for your comment!!

I have my hair cut & coloured every couple of months, (have to hide the grey somehow)at the hairdressers but as i cannot wear nail varnish or false nails for work the only time i have them done is for special occasions & holidays.

Why are you hiding the gray??? I think it's beautiful when people have silver hair... I hope my hair will turn silver when I get older. Thanks for your comment!!
