High top or Low top shoes?

I use to wear low cut shoes for basketball but after I sprained my ankle I started to wear high cut thinking it would protect my ankle from further injury later in my life of basketball. Last night, I was watching YouTube and I stumbled upon a video of Kobe endorsing his new shoe which is Low top, he said Hi top or Lo top you will still get injured if your foot landed in ways its not suppose to be. So, does it really matter what kind of shoe I wear when playing basketball?

I go for the high top shoes. It is comfortable when playing and I believe that a basketball is not prone to injury if you wear like high top shoes.

I think you better wear high top shoes. High top shoes can cover the ankle from danger activities. Because of that, wearing high top shoes is one of regulation from league in my state, Development Basketball League. If player don't wear high top shoes, he won't playing basketball on that league. It's strange regulation, but if it make we play safely, why not?

it doesn't really matter. you have to make sure that you wear the right kind of shoes and if you have an injury like that, wrap it in an ace bandage. any type of shoe you wear you can still get injured by landing wrong. no shoes are gonna protext injury but certain types of shoes might lower the risk of injury/sprain. it doesn't matter what if it's low or high cut of the shoe. it's just a fashion.
