An old friend surprised me the other day and sent me a friend's request on Facebook. I haven't seen or heard from her since junior hight school. Have you recently hooked up again with any old friends or relatives? How do you feel about it? For me it is sort of weird. Thinking back to all those silly times and knowing how she has changed over the years. Me too!

Hi. celticeagle. I have requested to be friends with many old friends from school on Facebook. I am still making contact with many others too. I think that it is exciting to meet up and connect with old classmates. Especially, the ones that you were okay with while in school. I was not all that popular or likable in school, but I knew many people that I went to school with. Some people that were childish has changed and some have not. I hope that after all of these years that they have squashed any pettiness out of the door.

hi celticeagle I recently hooked up with my childhood best friend and'wow we both changed a lot. she is a vehement republican who thinks just being democrat is evil, vile, horrible,I was so disappointed as I thought that surely our friendship could survive having different political views but no she now bombards me with tract about how horrible democrats are and religous tracts, Ihate being preached at. I have my own religion and my own church, I hate being preached at and she knows it. so i just delete all that stuff and I guess she does not know the difference. As kids we had so much fun together and always did things together and she went to a lot of trouble to find me and I guess I really disappointed her. I am a Methodist and so is she but her views on it sure differ from mine. I wish we could find a happy medium someplace so we could revive our old friendship again

That is too bad. My friend I was speaking of in this make a very profound statement early on as far as our religious differences. She said: We will just have to agree to disagree. Smart lady, eh? I am sorry yours didn't work out well.

I found someone on facebook that I used to go to highschool with. I extended the invitation to meet up with her somewhere and maybe have lunch but she hasn't really acted like she'd interested..no big deal. We were close in highschool but things change and so do people. I'm glad that you have reunited with your friend enjoying it.

Don't they though?! I had one friend I tried to reconnect with afew years back. Found her number, gave her a call several times and she never returned a one. We had been inseperable in high school.

Isn't it amazing what facebook does? I have been hooked up with classmates I never saw since High School graduation. All of them got family now.

Yes ,I got to meet with my friends of my junior high school days on Facebook and happy to know that people have not forgotten me till now. When I go through their profile I can see that they had changed a lot and the stupid things we did together when we were kids flashes back.

Facebook bringing folks together. I too started speaking to several old friends I haven't had anything to do with in decades. I left one high school to go to another as I was never very welcome in the first. I did not keep in contact with anyone, and they never tried with me. Now I had known these people for years many since we started school. Now years later our changes are for the better and I speak regularly to at least 5 of them, though all but two have also, like us, moved out of state from where we grew up. We do plan to get together with one of them and her hubby when we go home for a week at the end of the month. I have had concerns about how it might go. Would you say you would meet your friend again?

Oh sure I will see her again. Her older sister and I are like sisters, very close. We keep the whole thing going. I go back to see them and I am like a member of the family and always treated that way. Just make it for lunch or something. So you aren't honed in for the day or anything just incase.
