My nephews refuse to go out and play

On Sunday, it was a good day and the plenty of sunshine out there. I believe that it was beautiful day, and I would love to bring my nephews to the park and play. Surprising, no one wants to go, because they were too lazy to move their b*tts. They said, "we are good." It is too hot out there, and we rather want to stay indoor enjoy the A/C rather than get sunburn. Well, I guess our generation is totally different from their generation. We won't care about the sun heat, we still love to go out and play a little when we were little. Now, they are much luckier, they have those ps3 and xbox to preoccupied with. Do your children like to play outdoor?

Both of my children absolutely love to be outside. They have easily spent more time outside than inside during the course of this summer. We have spent a lot of time at the pool because it essentially equates to free air conditioning. In addition to that, there are a lot of kids in our neighborhood and I like to let my children play with their friends but I don't particularly want them in my house. My kids basically have no shortage of time outdoors while the weather is nice.

I wish this was my grandchild's problem, they love to go out doors. Their mother is so afraid they will burn. It is hard to keep energetic children in all day.

The entire family must provide the time to entice the nephew to join outdoor games. My cousins and I were fond of playing outside because it was also our bonding time. We did not worry if we would all get sweaty because we simply enjoyed what we were doing. The parents must take the lead because if they are couch potatoes themselves then they cannot honestly expect that their children would be any different.

same with my nephew, I tried to convince him a lot to play with other children outside rather than staying at his room watching TV or playing computer games but I failed. he always says, "I'm too tired to go outside", "It's boring out there", or "I'll miss my game". I guess children of today's new generation is a whole lot different from mine. I used to play a lot outside when I was a child. I even got sick when my mom tries to hold me inside the house. If I would be his mom, I won't allow this to happen. I mean its not healthy for children staying around the house doing nothing but playing computers.

Kingparker, I disagree with your statement about this generation being luckier because they have video games. They are actually in a bad state. Fresh air, exercise and the sun are all great factors for growing children to be exposed to. My children enjoy going outside, especially my son...he can't get enough of riding his bike outside. The time of day when children play is important because sometimes sunscreen is needed. I wouldn't take them outside between noon and 3pm, that is considered way too hot. Tell your nephews that playing outside is like the Wii only in real life....:^)

Hi kingparker, the similar situation happens here as well. When visiting my friend in the evening, we usually like enjoying the outdoor fresh air and landscape. Her kids don't have any interest to follow us to the nearby park where there are some ponds, lots of trees, flower plants as well as spacious lawn. We like roaming in the natural environment either in the weekend morning or evening. It's rather sad that nowadays kids here have more interest indulging in playing computer games and surfing net in the air con room. Most of them look obese, for they spend most of the time sitting in front of the computer or tv. It's worse still they like eating junk food at the same time. I worry about the health of the kids if they still feel reluctant to have any outdoor activities and do physical exercise regularly. Yeah, it's true that during our childhood we spent most of our leisure time doing outdoor activities. It's interesting as well having fun doing all sort of interesting activities in the shady small wood, playing with water beside stream, playing kid games on the ground, etc Happy posting

It is common that no one wants to get sunburn in themselves.Perhaps your nephews just don't want go outdoors in such a horrible hot weather. That doesn't mean they don't like outdoor activities themselves. But to be honest, young people today have already become more independent.Meanwhile, entertainment activities are more various than their ancient generation.

Hi kingparker, nowadays chilren can got many joys in house,so they don't go out. They play alone in home.I think life of home attract our children than pay in outdoor. They can watch cartoon, play joy, listen music and play computer games in house. The idea of children are diffrent from idea of our generation. But we don't too pessimistic,we can join to their games !

My daughter is only 3 but she loves to play outside and go to the park. Every time someone comes to our house to visit she asks for them to take her for a walk and then usually gets them to take her to the park that is at the end of the street. She is fine in the heat I am the one that suffers, if it is over 90ºF I get a headache pretty quick but I still take her out as much as I can. She can even be watching TV and she will leave that to go play outside. She is also lucky enough to have a grandma who lives in an apartment and they have a nice out door pool there. I don't get her there enough but she loves it. She just is an outside water baby. When asked what she wants to do we usually her lets go to the park or that she wants to go to the zoo again. We have only been twice this summer. I hope to keep her where she likes to play outside and doesn't always want to be inside. I don't see it being a problem yet.
