Hi Vick.Iam a member of some the freelance sites online. My experience in these sites is very positive.Initially I had to struggle to get the jobs,so I had to literally delivery my first job free of cost,it was a low price job though.Once I had this project, there was no trouble winning bids and earning projects.I made a point that I will never pay a site for being a member.I prefer sites that would take commission from the earnings and offer good services to the freelancers as well. I wish you good luck and a successful stint with freelancing.

Yeah maybe when you get your first job is easier to get more, in fact I get a couple of jobs by now on one freelancer site, and I like it, you can earn extra money, and I agree I prefer sites where they take a fee only when you get a job. What kind of jobs you do as freelancer?

You may still try to find a job in traditional freelance sites. Yet, base on my experience, unless you have some skills, like able to write program or do translation, it is really hard for you to get one job on those traditional freelance sites. If you ask me, I would suggest Cloud Crowd if you are really keen on earning through freelance jobs. (Check my website in my profile if you are interested. Sorry that due to the policy of myLot, I cannot post the link here directly) Cloud Crowd is a facebook application that works like the hybrid of Amazon Mturk and traditional freelance sites. It connects the employers and freelancers, but instead of letting the employers to choose which freelancers they would hire, freelancers are required to hand in their work directly. First piece of work that is up to standard will be chosen. No comparison with other's work will be done. First come first serve. That means you now have a chance to show your ability and get paid. Usually, checking will be finished within one day. Another good thing is that they payout every business day automatically through paypal with no minimum payout amount. With no cost to join, if you just wonder if this is a scam site, take a task and the payment you receive will be the best proof. So, while you are still waiting for your first job in traditional freelance sites, why not give Cloud Crowd a try? I'm sure you will love this site as I do.

Being a newbie in freelance job sites is not easy. Before starting to apply for a job, make sure to read first the rules and tips given by the website. Before proposing to perform for a specific project, make sure that you have created a good and systematized well-made profile. If you have done a work sample with your skill, it's a plus to post it. Employers will look at to your profile before accepting your proposal. Try to post the lowest bid and make your proposal message to the employer more interesting and professional.

Tell me: do you participate actively in a freelancer site? What kind of jobs you do?

I have tried to do a work on freelancer sites which offering various sort of jobs such as webdesigning, web programming, etc. Since i have a bit knowledge on such jobs then i decided to take a look on some freelancer sites. But what i found is i must compete with some companies which specialized on that jobs. So i think a freelancer site is not really for a freelancer, but the job can be done by everyone who willing to do. The procedure for getting a job is also through bidding progress. So i think it's not really a freelancer site but it's more likely a bid for a job site. Some jobs need high criteria and the job offer also need to see our portfolio on related jobs. I think this criteria is hard to a freelancer since a freelancer, especially a new freelancer however will have no such high portfolio to show even though the freelancer perhaps really has enough skills for that job. I think it's better to make our own online company with a simple website and then register it to a freelancer site so we can bid for better price and job. But the most important thing is we also need to carefully bidding for a job since some job offers perhaps is scam. Just be wise when you want to make money online. Good luck for you and have a nice day. Happy mylotting.

Yes there are much companies that offers low bids, is so difficult to compete with them, but I think a real freelancer could do the jobs if you have the skills. And yes, you have to be careful, there are people trying to scam others everywhere... Thanks for your response :)

i choose to not work on freelance sites because their is not always any freelance jobs available that i look for and am able to do and there are not always others out there that are hiring so it is abit harder to work as a freelancer i think.

I have requested for a few freelance sites and have been turned down. Some have said they don't have any openings and others have said my content was not what they were looking for. Currently, I'm waiting to have an article I submitted reviewed so I can start working on other projects that arrive in my box daily. In the meantime, I work at JustAnswer.com. At the moment I don't have any experience with bidding for jobs. I will say this if you want a good freelance job make sure you do some research on the company and make sure you read all their rules and regs. If it seems like something you want to do, go for it.

I know JustAnswer.com but I've never participated there, it seems to be interesting, but I have doubts about this site: Can you earn good money there? How exactly works? I suppeose you only earn money in this site being an expert, but: How do you become an expert there? Are you an expert in this site?

$600 a month is a very good money, I'm interested in this site now, maybe I can become an expert one day and start to earn there, as I said before I didn't put much attention to this site, but with your comments here maybe I take in count this site and start in there. Thank you very much for your comments to my question.

So far working for JustAnswer I break over $600 a month but that is working part-time. You can make good money but it does take some work. You must be patient and dedicated. In order to become an Expert you must have a background check and choose the area you want to work in. I work in the homework area. If your background check comes back okay and they have openings then you will be entered as Expert level 1, the more homework accepts that you recieve higher up in rank you go. The highest level is Expert 4 and that's me. I will warn you...you are only paid if the clients accept your work. The amount of money you can ear is unlimited and depending on the area you sign up for there is always work.

I am a freelance writer for demandstudios.com. I make $15/article, with each article typically taking less than an hour to write. Most of the freelance opportunities that you find online are content mills, which is nice for making quick pocket cash but not the best long-term career choice. Demand Studios is definitely one of the best paying and most trusted freelancing sites that I have come across though. They also accept copy editors and film makers. Legit freelancing sites with good pay will always require a resume and a writing sample, so be sure you have one ready. Best of luck!

I didn't know demandstudios.com. Is this site like other freelancer sites? You have mentioned you write articles, I write a little too but not in english, I think my english skills aren't good enough to write in this language, demandstudios.com seems to be only for writers or related jobs, isn't it?

I have also tried registering in that site but it is really hard to get a job out there. Even you know that you can do the job but there are many others competing with you. It's better to stay here at mylot, you have no competitors and you just be active and you can make money.

Yes mylot is good, you have no competition here, and only for participate you can earn a little but is so slowly, I stay here because I live in a country that has a language different from english, and I want to to practice my english skills here, if I reach the payment one day would be great but is not my first objective here. And yes there are many others trying to win the bids, but if you are good enough you can get a few jobs, and of course with a little good luck. You can earn good money for a project that's why I'm interested in freelancer sites. Thanks for your response.
