Carpet, laminate, or wood?

I want wood flooring in my house but I can't afford them right now. Carpet is very hard to maintain especially when you have pets. At least with wood flooring it is easier to wipe when you spill something but with carpet things can seep trough. Laminates are okay but I think wood is the best look for a house, though I would still want some areas in my house to remain as carpet like the bedroom. Tiles? Nope. What is the best of these? One? Two? Combinations?

I put some floating flooring at my house. It looks like wood, but it isn´t. It´s much cheaper, you can put it yourself and you wipe it clean. I got tired of the carpet after my first dog brough ticks to my house. I cleaned and changed the floor. I looks awesome. In my coutry it is cheaper that a good carpet.

Yes. It´s also called floating floor because it´s not put immediatly over whatever you have , be it wood or concrete (as in my house). First you have to put a sort of foam where this laminated floor "floats". It´s the way such a thin floor does not break with use.
I´ll add a picture with my youngest daughter on it.

If I really had a choice I believe I would prefer all wood. then I could use several different types of large area rugs and even small ones to accent different areas. That way the style and feel of every room could be changed out occasiounlly.

I love wood floors I have always wanted them. If the whole house was wood then id lay down lots of rugs so my feet wouldn't be cold walking around. Or I wouldn't mind there being carpet and wood. In the house I live in now we just have carpet and laminate and it works out fine. but I would say that if we didn't have carpet we wouldn't have to worry about stains on the carpet.

yup stains can be a problem that's why I like having dark carpet instead of light.

First off, your user name is really appropriate for your discussion!
I too have been wanting to change my flooring. It's all carper, and I shampoo them twice a year, but it just seems to be really dirty lately. I would also like to change them to hardwood. Preferrably the dark color ones. If not all of the floor, then at least just downstairs - the living room and kitchen.
