Another new typhoon entered the Philippines today and quickly shattered the residents in Luzon area where heavy rains and floods along the streets started flowing. Some are dead and missing. The question is that was that new President ready for this?

I think we should be thankful still, because what happened is not as bad as what happened last year with the typhoon Ondoy wherein it flooded in almost every place in metro manila, even in places where flood doesn't usually occurs. I don't think our President was ready with what just happen because of what PAGASA reported the day prior to the typhoon. But I believe that everyone even the president was somehow aware for any kind of disaster that could have happen during the typhoon.

and besides, it's nature. we can't just contemplate no matter how much we whine, it's still part of mother earth process. you know water evaporates in the sea and then turned into a gigantic storm. all we have to do is to be ready for it.

Well, you can't really blame this on the president. Even the previous disaster - Ondoy, can't be blamed on GMA's shoulder. A disaster is a disaster so all we can do is pick up the pieces and move on. We can't really entirely prevent it. We can only lessen the blow and the pain from it.

Of course we cannot blame disasters on the government. However, they are responsible for disaster preparedness and rehabilitation. Ondoy was a result of mankind's destruction of the environment. As you said, we can only lessen it and in this regard, the government is at the forefront of doing this. Do you honestly think that our government did their responsibility in mitigating the effects of a disaster?

Hello Marvin,
that's not the fault of the President, that is the fault of the people who just don't discipline themselves in disposing the trash properly instead of throwing it everywhere they please. Discipline in terms of Proper waste disposal is a must in every person in the country. not to mention at least the majority should be involved in tree planting activities to shield us from the Land Slides and Floods.
So, I might say, People are gonna die here if they're not too careful. they cannot blame the administration for this. most specially now that Pnoy is having a problem refilling the left over budget from the previous administration.we can't and don't depend on the president alone.

We did not learn from Ondoy and Pepeng. The Pag-asa is still ill-equipped to make a more accurate forecast. PNoy scolded Pag-asa and of course, Pag-asa gave the same excuse which previous government's never cared to address. PNoy asked them what they needed and I hope this time they will be given whatever they need so that we can be better prepared for disasters.

I also pray for that because as a Filipino it's still our concern to what will happen to our fellow Filipinos especially in this hard times.
