I will buy a laptop soon but confused which specs to buy. I wanna know which is better. Acer Intel Centrino® Core 2 Duo T5550 (1.86 Ghz, 2MB, 667FSB) 1GB DDR2 , 160GB SATA HDD or Intel Pentium Dual Core T4300 2.1Ghz, 2GB DDR2 Memory, 320GB HDD SATA by emachine? Hoe you could help me. Thanks a lot in advance

Hello, Between the two brands I'd say Acer is the more popular and most probably has more quality behind thier product, although not by much. Having a great experience from a laptop you buy does not necessarily come from the listed specs but more from what you get in the long run, which is durability, reliablity and stability. However, if I were you,(pardon me for adding more than what your asking)and since I've known some friends whose Acer laptops gave way after less than a year, I'd buy an HP, Samsung or Toshiba for sure they're even better in quality and you get more satisfaction. Good luck and may you find a laptop which you will be happy with.

Go for the first one, centrino core 2 duo. Centrino means it's optimized for laptops. the processors would consume less power, compared to the dual core processor. Also Core 2 Duo processors are faster that dual core processors. Just upgrade the ram to 2GB or 4GB and you're good to go :)

Acer has a better build quality and Centrino Core 2 Duo is better then the old Dual Core. Just get a new DRR2 1GB stick and upgrade the memory.

if i were i would go Acer Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo t5550 and i will upgrade the memory to 2GB or more. The emachine specs are nice and powerful but don't trust emachine at all. but if you can find any other known brand but not emachine then go for it.
