We leave Friday for our church campgrounds for the annual campmeeting. My two daughters are going and I will stay with the oldest one in her camper. We have been doing this since my youngest was 5 years old. 26 years ago. We have missed very few campmeetings. We start the day out with breakfast, of course, then we all have meetings we go to. The children from preschool through 5th grade will go to Bible School in the morning. Youth 6th through 12th grade will go to youth group. Adults have several Bible Studys that they can choose to go to, some of us choose to stay at our camp sites. Then we will have lunch and the after noon is free leisure time with many things to participate in, including an afternoon church service, swimming, games, etc. Then we will have supper and evening church service. Following that we will have a campfire (yes even in 90+ degree heat!) and roast hotdogs, marshmellows and make hobo pies in the fire. The youth have an evening youth game time. We have lights out at 11pm and start the day over. We just love it. I am not sure what my favorite part is. We have a leather shop for the kids and adults to make things in the afternoon. We have a Christian book store and a WCG (Women of the Church of God)cottage that items are sold for Mission projects. Some is new craft items, baked goods, yard sale stuff. Things change all the time. It is the kids favorite store!! Next Friday we will have a baptisim service. then we will be going home, it is always such a letdown after a wonderful week of worship. But I always feel so 'refreshed and renewed' after this week. So to my friends, I won't be here from Friday to Friday I hope all of you have a wonderful week. I know I will. Does your church do anything like this? I put this under family and not Religion or Christian because this is our #1 family event that we do together. Well, besides going to the zoos and history village, but this is an all week family thing.

I can't wait to go!!!! It is always a wonderful week. A couple years I didn't care for the morning Bible Studies leaders mostly. One I felt like I needed an 8 year college education just to understand him! Others are so fabulous! I have laundry to do and a house to clean and clothes to pack. Someone tell me why I am on here????? I use to cook all my food and freeze it so at camp all I had to do was reheat. That was when I took my kids. Now they have campers and don't do things like I did and I am really lost as to what and how to do things. I just do what ever the oldest one tells me to do. Tomorrow I will make homemade cinnamon rolls and cookies to take and maybe a pie. Thanks for your response.

It is so wonderful! Lots of walking and up and down hill! I really need the exercise!!!!! I don't have a laptop but my daughter does. Nope I will take my relaxing time, in the afternoon and be reading or chatting. One year in the WCG cottage I got an embroadry (I cna't spell it!!) and worked on it all week. NOt something I do but a lady from my church taught me how to do it. There are 2 other families going from our church besides my two daughters and me. It is a 2 hour drive so some others will come up during the week too. Thanks for your response.
