How can I get your attention in a positive way to start a conversation?
What do girls generally like to talk about with a guy?
What should I not say or do during a first impression conversation with a girl?

I feel in love with my husband because he did not put on a act. He was himself. We were frinds before we were married so I married my best frind. I hated a guy to use "lines" with me. That is so fake and gals pick up on that immediately. That is if you are looking for "that special" gal. Just be nice and talk about the things you have in common.

I agree with you because some guy just came up to my sister and ask for her number and she didn't give it to him. They use all these lines, but they don't really work. I guess the first thing is to be friends first like you did. So I would try not to have any intentions and then just see how it flows.

Just be yourself. Alot of times, girls can see right through you if you're fake. They may give you a chance, but they know. In the long run not being yourself wouldn't be so helpful anyway. Think about it this way though: If a girl doesn't like you for you, then you really aren't meant to be, and then move on to the next potential girlfriend/friend or whatever.

If you don't mind advice from an old married woman, I would suggest not being too pushy, show consideration above all things and don't lie.

well i will tell you what not to talk about.
football and sports including bettings.
cars and motorbikes.
politics.
some hobbies like fishing or hunting.
your experiences from the army.
and that leaves a lot of things to talk about.
