Well if you thought that the US was the only country to have an oil spill, you're wrong. We had to have ours also. Couldnt let you guys be the only ones you know?
A ship from the Canadian Steamship Company tried to stop on the St-Lawrence Seaway (why I still dont know) but it was very windy so they hit bottom and an oil tank was damaged leaking all its content.
They were close to a bird sanctuary. Last night they said they could contain it but its not true, its leaking all the way down the St-Lawrence River destroying the bird sanctuary and killing fishes and wildlife.
Oh, I forgot to say that the Canadian Steamship Company is owned by a previous Premier's son.
Do you think they're trying to poison all our water??

Oooh, Im sure they'll be very afraid now......NOT!!
Obama couldnt even hit someone standing right in front of him. He's been spending too much time with our pot head when he was here. They're both useless now.

I wouldnt mind changing my ways if governments do also. As for using electric cars, well they tell us to cut back on using electricity, so where on earth am I going to recharge my batteries then? They're not making any sense lately.
Take plastic bags for example, we're not getting them when we go shopping anymore, we have to bring our own bags. Now they say that some people are sick because we re-use our bags and they're full of bacteria....So they try to change something for the better.....so they think, but its always for the worse. Same with those new light bulbs, turns out they're full of mercury and will stay in landfills for decades to come.
Who's in charge and coming up with those stupid ideas is what Id like to know.
Sorry I got carried away a lil here lol

The gulf spill is just the worst one probably in history. But there have been many others. I went to the Bahamas, a Club Med, a very long time ago and you couldn't use the beaches where I was because of the tar balls on them. It was disappointing to go to such a place that is supposed to have such grat beaches and then to have them closed. There was no publicity or anything about it; no warning or notice when we booked the trip.

Im sorry it ruined your trip. I guess it was an old oil well that was badly plugged and it kept on leaking. We wont have any beaches left soon anywhere if we let them.
So sad!!
Thanks

I think we should revive or remake that old Beatles' song into "Oil spill here, there, and everywhere". We need to come up with tougher rules, penalties, and punishments even if they are just accidents so these sea-based oil merchants will be more careful in handling their commodities...

You're absolutely right, as long as we let them make their own rules and regulations, we're doomed. But NO politician will want to be the one to change that. Besides, Im pretty sure they're all getting some "help" from the oil companies.....so why irritate them?
In the meantime, we're the one paying the price......but what the politicians dont understand is that once they've let all of our fresh water go to waste, THEY will be out of water also. Unless they found a way to make their own!!!!
Thank you!

That is really a piece of bad news, I'm sad to hear it.
I don't think some one are damaging our earth on purpose. But profit first, greed, carelessness and lack of responsibility make all these man-made catastrophes. And I believe all our water field can not survive from these companies.

I don't think they do it on purpose. They worship the almighty oil dollar too much. The one thing I do feel is true is that they do not care about anything except themselves and the almighty dollar. If they can get away unscathed, they will. BP knew for months that they had gas leaks. They knew all along that there was a potential for an explosion. The human lives at stake did not matter if they could just get that well drilled and tapped without the possible explosion. They kept going even though they knew.
The leak in the Gulf that is happening now is just the first ot thousands of potential ones in the future. There are thousands of old wells that are capped off with gobs of cement. Who knows when these will start to fail...not if when. There are no regulations on how to cap these wells. They just do it however they wish. If they fail no one will even know until barrels have leaked out because no one monitors them.
I am saddened by your spill. I have sailed through there on my sailboat years ago. It is beautiful. So is the Gulf;we are losing the war.

Yes I heard that many are already leaking and since it doesnt show, nobody is talking about it. Greed is a terrible disease.
It is a beautiful place to sail and Im also saddened that it might never be the same again. Nobody is cleaning it up as of yet.....they say its much more important to open up the seaway now because lots of ships are waiting to go through......and of course, lots of money lost.
So its money before the wild life. What will become of our earth !!!
Thanks
