Just curious does anyone when taking online surveys for cash, points, or any other type of rewards do you always tell the truth? I have joined a few sites where I can take surveys but it seems I hardly ever qualify to complete them or get the reward that was stated. I would never lie about my opinions but I was wondering if others do to get a better chance of getting through the survey and getting paid for your time? It gets frustrating reading you do not qualify for this survey would you like to try another, but hey I'm a trooper so I will keep trying.

Well it depends on my mood. I don't complete so many surveys on the internet but if I would then I'm sure that I'll complete them with fake answers.

The main site I do online surveys on is swagbucks. I hardly every qualify to finish the survey to get any points so it really is kinda frustrating so thats why I made up this discussion to see what I am doing wrong. It seems I am to honest a person to actually get anywhere money or reward wise as far as surveys are concerned.

Thank you for your response geojb90. I really don't like taking them too much it seems it is more time for such little rewards but I am going to try and give it my best shot even if I have to use fake answers, I guess it has turned into a challenge now to see how many I can complete if I fake it. he he

Yes nobody tells truth on online surveys. If you have to earn good money then you have to tell lies to fullfill your targets.

I do my best to be honest, but sometimes if the survey looks a little too scammy, I don't want to take the risk to get a ton of junk in my mailbox. That's why I try not to do those kind of surveys. I like opinion surveys because they do not ask for deep information, like your address. And they are rather fun to do.

I don't do any surveys that ask for any information that is going to lead back to them contacting me either. I already get enough soliciation calls and emails to add more to the list.

I find it's less hassle telling the truth in surveys; that way, I don't have to think about (or remember) what I might or might not have said before in order to determine what I say now.
Besides, some survey sites monitor your response for any possible contradictions.

I don't take surveys anymore, but when I was still a member of many survey sites, I received few surveys and I was often told that I didn't qualify for the surveys I got. It was tempting to lie sometimes because it was pretty obvious what kind of answers they were looking for but I didn't actually do it. My husband is also member of some survey sites, and he doesn't always stick to the truth, or to put it in another way he has a pretty creative way of interpreting the questions

I am almost always honest on my surveys, but I am lucky and qualify for quite a few of them, more now that I have two kids. There may be times when I stretch the truth a little, for example have you purchased so-and-so in the past month and its really been two month, but I never just outright lie. I think it would be too hard to keep up with your answers if you are lying anyways.

@tennymarie congrats on being able to qualify for more surveys now and yes that was what I was thinking trying to keep up with all lies would be very hard for me as well.
@wowrameezali that is the most frustrating part for me as well spending sometimes almost a hour on a dang survey just to get the response *sorry you do not qualify for this survey at this time* and then get the message would you like to try another? UGGGG

I am a member of a few survey sites & have learnt the hard way that if you are totally truthful whilst answering surveys i was nearly always bummed out of them but now i just bend the truth a bit & have found i am a lot more successful in qualifying for them.

Well, it looks like I'm the rare honest person in this pool. I don't lie in surveys. To lie just to qualify for a survey is tantamount to thievery. Granted, I don't qualify for many surveys but at least I can live with myself and look in the mirror and like what I see. I firmly believe that honesty is ALWAYS the best policy.

alaskanay I do truelly believe honesty is the best policy as well. I joke that I would lie just to complete a survey but when it comes down to it I probably would not. I am thinking since they are really frustrating I should just focus my time more somewhere else like myLot. Have a great day

In the beginning yes we tend to answer and give the reality. But later when you get used to the site you want to be quick and then you start to lie.

This would sound lame but I really haven't tried lying to online surveys. I don't know why but whenever I think about lying, I get a feeling of guilt. I mean, I want to be honest in everything I do. If they will pay me good money, why should I lie? Of course many believe that lying is necessary in order to qualify for the surveys. It's totally up to you and your principles. If you want to take your chances, then by all means lie. =) But I don't think I will be lying to those unbelievably unfair surveys any time soon.
