I remember that not to long ago I went to the beach and they were starting a protest thing to not drill oil anymore and they joined hands and even filmed it. They do not want to see oil ruining the oceans anymore. Still you know even though some people protested it you know their were people that were angry about it because oil is used for many things like running our cars. What do you all think??? I would really like somebodies opinion on this.

I dont know anything about how they drill oil or how it affects the ocean. But I think no matter how long they protest against drilling for oil, its not gonna work. For the simple reason that oil is a necessity.
I guess instead of protesting or rallying in the street or the beach, go make a bill about it. That way they can help conceptualize a better solution for this problem.

The protesters told me that it spills into their oceans or something like that. They were also making people sign a petition, but I refused to sign it except for my sister she signed it. That's true because they are wasting their time protesting about something that will probably never happen because we just need oil it makes our world go round in a sense. Oil helps stabalize our economy too.

Stop drilling for oil in the ocean, you mean? If they did now, it would be another blow to our economy, both nationally and locally. With the economic problems we're having, now is not the time to ban drilling. It would cause serious problems.
This is probably nothing but backlash from the Gulf oil spill. People jump on the band wagon without thinking about the consequences.

I must agree our economy certainly is bad right now and having no oil would cause major problems. Unless somehow somebody would figure something out, but that wont happen for a long long long time.
People sometimes do not think about the consequences that their decision will make. Still everybody is entitled to their opinion now a days.

Instead of answering your question, I have another question to ask. When all those people protest against drilling for oil, what kind of fuel did they use when driving their cars all over the places? Did they walk to the stores and make purchases and never gets on a plane for a trip?
The funny thing is when they are protesting so hard on these environmental issues, they are also consuming these resources as much as we do. And I don't really see how they have done their job in setting us an example of having a life without ANY relationship to oil.

People can protest all they want and it won't change a thing. Oil is big money to both companies and the countries. They will keep drilling regardless of the damages they are or could be potentially doing. If people like to do something about it, they should curb their dependencies on oil. Without demand, they see no purpose in continuing the drilling.
